Support the Animals in Mercer County

There are many wonderful nonprofit organizations in Mercer County, New Jersey. If you're interested in helping them out, they'd be happy to hear from you!

The nonprofits I'm focusing on here are the ones who help the domestic animals -- the animals that many people take into their lives, but unfortunately don't always treat the way they should be treated. That's why these organizations exist.

Trenton, NJ

Delaware Valley Second Chance For Animals, Inc. is a 501 (c)(3) charity. They are a dedicated group of volunteers. Their focus is to give displaced, homeless, or owner-surrendered animals a second chance to find a permanent home. The vast majority of their animals are rescued from overcrowded shelters where they are often in danger of being euthanized.

They have no physical location. Once rescued, all of their furry friends are placed in private foster homes throughout the Delaware Valley. They do their best to ensure that while in foster care, all of their adoptees are healthy and well socialized, so you can concentrate on finding the ideal new addition to your family.

Trenton, NJ

Homeward Bound Rescue of NJ seeks to improve the quality of life for sheltered cats and dogs through rescue and rehabilitation, and by finding loving adoptive families and homes. They aspire to treat all pets and humans with compassion, respect, and the grace that they deserve. They believe that euthanasia is not the answer to pet overpopulation and that mandatory spay/neuter laws must be invoked. They proactively seek to educate the public about responsible pet guardianship and work cooperatively with humane organizations and municipal shelters to re-home adoptable animals. They help animals in need of a safe, loving environment, and people in need of a new companion.
