Age range: 8 years and over.
Mermaids are wonderful imaginary creatures that have inspired stories from many cultures. Children love fantasizing stories about mermaids, so I thought it befitting to create a unit study for this purpose.
This Mermaids Unit Study is a set of resources designed to help you guide your children in discovering the mysterious world of mermaids. Since mermaids are thought to be fictional beings, it's difficult to find lots of information to put a comprehensive unit study together on it. I've done what I could to make this study as complete as possible. Review what is presented in this lens, then choose the information you feel is appropriate for your child.
If you come across any online resources that you believe would make a good addition to this Mermaids Unit Study, please contact me to share it. I will be sure to attribute the find to you.

The Little Mermaid

The Little Mermaid is a story written by Danish writer and poet, Hans Christian Andersen. Andersen was known for his many popular children's stories such as "Thumbelina," "The Little Match Girl" and "The Ugly Duckling."
