What is Mesothelioma?
Mesothelioma is a rare cancer causing those cells to become abnormaland invade and damage nearby tissues and organs. The Cancer cells can sometimes metastasize, or spread, to other parts of the body.
There are three types of Mesothelioma. Pleura Mesothelioma, Peritoneal Mesothelioma and Benign ( non-cancerous)Mesothelioma depending upon the location of cancer cells.
About 2,000 new cases of mesothelioma are diagnosed each year in the United States. Although mesothelioma occurs more often in men than in women, the risk increases with age, and this disease can appear in either men or women at any age.
How do you get Mesothelioma?
Family members and others living with people who work around asbestos have an increased risk of developing this disease as well as other asbestos-related diseases. This may be due to the exposure to asbestos dust that has been brought home on the clothing and hair of the people working around asbestos.

Common Symptoms of mesothelioma can include but are not limited too:
Shortness of breath or difficulty breathing
Coughing
Pain in chest or abdomen
Fluid in the chest, lungs, or abdomen
Weight loss
Loss of appetite
Inability to sleep
Husky voice
Difficulty swallowing
If the cancer has spread beyond the mesothelium to other parts of the body, symptoms may include pain, trouble swallowing, or swelling of the neck or face.
