Why can't I lose weight ? Perhaps one of the most asked questions in these modern times, but is it realy necessary to believe the answer is hidden and impossible to find, or worse still that it is somehow your own fault.With obesity reaching epidemic proportions throughout the industrialised world the link between modern lifestyles and poor health is self evident. With so much information available today and the vast amounts of money poured into healthcare and the diet industry it would seem truly amazing that nobody can actualy come up with a health promoting lifestyle that works. Knowing your metabolic type could unlock the way to robust health, high energy and ideal weight.

Am I eating right?

A great example of this is the contradictory nature of various diets, we all know about the Atkins diet and how it relies heavily on protein and very low levels of carbohydrates in stark contrast to the hi/lo diet and often government supported notion that minimum fat and meat along side high levels of fruits, grains and vegtables for a diet based primarily on carbohydrates. Despite some success with both approaches it is absolutely clear that they cannot both be right. With increasing obesity and worsening health neither approach can claim widespread success, in fact it is obvious that the diet and health industry has failed completely to provide any form of reliable health improvement or a diet that can be applied individualy with guaranteed results. If a diet existed that was able to produce ideal results we would see an end to poor health on a global scale almost immediately.

We all have the same metabolism right?

The idea behind this article is simply to tell you that there is a diet that is right for you and reasons why the diet industry has failed so miserably to promote good health. The question why can't I lose weight ? Will no longer hold you back once you understand a few basic principles behind how your metabolism is unique. If you live as an Eskimo you will typically obtain all your calories from hunted animals which are high in fat, your body will therefore be genetically programmed to run 'hot' in order process these difficult to break down fats and proteins. Furthermore it helps in combating the cold climate and assists in enabling the indigenous peoples of this region to not only survive but to thrive in this environment. Equatorial rain forests don't have a typical growing season like temperate forests and remain fertile all year round, trees produce fruit year round allowing a ready supply of easily digestible carbohydrates. Indigenous peoples of these regions are genetically tuned to run on a very different diet to those in polar regions.

The diet industry wants to help me, right?

Anyone selling a weight loss product in a "one size fits all" or "guaranteed weight loss" fashion without identifying your metabolic type is either misinformed or simply profiteering on other peoples misfortune. You may wonder why or even how anyone could do such a thing, unfortunately there is harsh truth behind it. If you are overweight you are very valuable to the diet and drug industry, the pills and diet formulas they sell you don't work very efficiently and they know it, however that means lots of repeat prescriptions from people coming back for more, desperately trying keep the weight off. You can only fool your body so long before it reverts to it's metabolic type.

I am asking you to look for someone who does not value you as a customer, a cash cow to be mercilessly milked to death, but someone who values you as a human being. Someone who can help you remove that blind fold the diet industry wants kept in place and discover a truly unique you. A human being who has dignity and is totally unique both inside and out, hiring some drill sergeant with a "fitness plan" who spends all day yelling and beating up people with metabolic imbalances to make money is just being cruel to yourself. Find out who you truly are and learn what that person needs to be healthy, building health is different from crash weight loss which only seeks short term goals in reducing the visible side effects of a metabolic condition. Your ideal diet is as unique as you are, you must have a diet that will work for your genetic make up or your ancestors would have died out long ago, they didn't need diet pills, low carb or low fat diets they simply ate what they were genetically accustomed to.

Find yourself, who you truly are.

To fully explain how carbohydrates effect different people with different a metabolic type would require more space than is available here but as a brief example, someone with a rapid metabolism will burn through carbs at a prodigious rate. Carbohydrates are easily digestible especially as fruit releasing large amounts of sugar into the blood stream, this in turn activates insulin release which instructs the body to burn carbs and shuts down fat metabolism. Insulin has the effect of encouraging fat storage when you load up with carbs, especially alcohol and sugar, however excess levels of blood sugar quickly normalize leading to sweet cravings and hunger pangs. Your body is saying I have run out of fuel and need to eat more, under these conditions your body is now storing excess and fat demanding "quick" fuel to plug the gap. Ironically dieting tends to make things worse, you force yourself to stop eating and your metabolism crashes increasing energy preservation and fat storage so the weight just won't go even if you drasticaly reduce calorie intake it all comes back because your body is trying to defend itself. By correctly identifying who you truly are and how that unique human being operates is the first step to putting on your plate the very fuel that is ideal for you, this will keep hunger at bay between meals maintain high energy levels and a steady metabolism burning away those excess pounds. The benefits of matching your food to your metabolic type are huge resulting robust health, a better and happier outlook on life and high energy that goes with happiness and health.

Next time you ask yourself why can't I lose weight ? Make sure you arm yourself with the wisdom to answer it, this is a journey within yourself not a search outside for answers. You always have carried those answers with you, it is those who wish to keep you in servitude that don't want you to find them.
