Metabolism B Syndrome: Weight Loss for the 45%

Do you keep gaining weight?

Can People around you eat more and yet weigh less than you?

Do you feel a strong urge to eat carbohydrates like candy, sweets, pasta, and chips?

Do the pounds accumulate around your tummy?

If so, you may be one of the millions of people with metabolic syndrome, or what Diane Kress, RD, CDE has simply identified as Metabolism B. Your body metabolizes carbohydrates differently, so even "tried and true" diets don't seem to work for you. However, Kress has helped thousands succeed in achieving a healthy weight - and lifestyle - in her 25 plus years of specialization in weight reduction and the prevention and management of diabetes. Her three-step approach to identifying and addressing your body's response to carbohydrate, The Metabolism Miracle, will have you feeling a difference within one week.

Weight On Weight Off

Type 2 Diabetes

Although pressure to diet is ever-present, obesity is on the rise, and with it comes the risk of Type 2 Diabetes, cardiovascular disease, cancer, hypertension, and more. All the more reason to make the change that will finally work.

Traditional diets assume that if you burn more calories than you consume, you will lose weight. For many people (those with Metabolism A), it works. Unfortunately, over 45 percent of us don't see significant results on this regimen. If you have been classified as "insulin resistant," are fatigued, anxious, and mildly depressed, or if conditions such as diabetes, high blood pressure, high cholesterol, thyroid problems and belly fat are among the issues in your personal and family health history, it's likely that you have Metabolism B, even if these symptoms, and the weight gain, began only recently.

Metabolism B causes your body to respond to carbohydrate intake by releasing excess insulin, which opens excess fat cells. Therefore, it is necessary to retrain your body to react appropriately to carbs. Not by eradicating them altogether, like some diets you may have tried, but by choosing the right carbs and introducing them to your body at the right times.

Step One: Relax the Pancreas

Carb "Rehab"

Eight weeks of very low carbohydrate intake will allow your pancreas to rest and reset its response to carbs. After three days, the brain will have stopped relying on carbohydrates for energy. With exercise (five 30 minute sessions per week) your body will begin consuming your excess fat.

Eating small meals from Kress' list of proteins, fats, vegetables and approved carbs every 5 hours (no more than 5 net grams* of carbohydrate within a five hour period) will keep your body humming.

WARNING - Product Labels:
*Don't trust the front of the package! To determine a product's net carbohydrate, see the Nutrition Information and use this simple formula:

Total carbohydrate grams - dietary fiber grams = net carb grams per serving

Step Two: Reprogramming the Body

Reintroduce Healthy Carbohydrates

Now, it's time to reprogram your body to process carbohydrates correctly. The body needs carbohydrate to run efficiently and eliminating them from your diet for long periods of time will decrease the functionality of your pancreas and liver. In Step Two, you will continue to enjoy the list of approved proteins, fats, veggies, and carbs, but you should increase your carb intake to 11-20 net grams of low-impact carbohydrate every five hours. Stay in this routine until you have achieved your healthy weight. There is no limit to the amount of time you may spend on this regimen.

Step Three: Visible Rresults

Lifetime Weight Maintenance

By this time, you should have experienced significant changes in your body and your dependence on medication. Now, you may increase your carbohydrate intake to between 7 and 14 servings (11-20 net carbs each) per day, depending on your age and level of activity. You should have at least one carb with every meal or snack, but no more than four servings at a time.

Conclusions

A satisfying way to eat and weight adjustment that can be maintained

Throughout the process, don't forget to drink at least 64 ounces of water and other caffeine-free liquids each day (especially green tea), exercise a minimum of 30 minutes 5 times a week, refuel your body every five hours, and continue to use the formula for calculating how much carbohydrate you are consuming.

If you have Metabolism B, you have been struggling to lose weight on diets that were not designed for you. Especially if you or a close relative have type 2 diabetes, The Metabolism Miracle will help you lose weight and keep it off, as well as control your blood sugar.
