Coin Shooting
Coin shooting is the most common type of metal detecting. It requires you to first decide if you are going to be looking for coins or jewelry.

The trick with coin shooting is knowing what level of discrimination you want to set the meter. If you set the level too high, you are going to miss things like rings. If you set it too low you're going to have to dig up every bottle cap and tab.

Relic Hunting
Relic hunting is a much tougher art than coin shooting. With relic hunting there are 2 problems.
