Introduction to the Metatron's Cube
A hexagon is created by Metatron's cube, and this polygon can also be found in naturally occurring phenomena, such as the Giant's Causeway in Ireland, honeycombs, beta quartz crystals, the polar cloud formation of Saturn, and the hexagonal fossil of the Paleodictyon nodosum, suggesting deeper systems of mathematical or vibrational order within the universe.
As a symbol, the Metatron's cube, like a map, can indicate many destinations. To which corner of reality will you explore? Or will you engage yourself with the whole?
It is up to us to choose how we are to approach these ancient forms, and with what intention. In this lens, you will find information about the Metatron's Cube and sacred geometry. You will find incredible videos illustrating natural sacred geometries, and products and links containing information and images relating to the Metatron's cube, mandalas, and sacred geometry. Enjoy!
Discovering the Metatron's Cube
Crossing Paths With Sacred Geometry

Artistically, I was struck by the visual impact of the Metatron's cube, pictured above, when I first came upon it. After doing some further reading, I found that Metatron's cube can be derived from the Fruit of Life, which is a special thirteen circle arrangement. This arrangement emerges from a series of intersecting circles placed in radial symmetry to form the approximation of a hexagon, known as the Seed of Life. The Seed of Life arrangement begins first with a single circle which is then intersected by a second circle, so that the circumference of each of the two circles travel through the center of the other, creating the so called vesica pisces, from which the "Jesus Fish" can be derived. Adding five more circles in radial symmetry creates the Seed of Life, and then after one expands this initial form by adding more circles in the same vesica pisces manner while removing earlier circles, one arrives at the Flower of Life. From further expansion, the Fruit of Life emerges. Connecting the centers of each of the thirteen circles of the Fruit of Life forms the Metatron's cube above.

The Cube(s) in Metatron's Cube
The figure of Metatron's Cube contains flattened wireframe versions of several regular polyhedrons, or three dimensional polygons, known as the platonic solids. These platonic solids are the Tetrahedron (four sided pyramid), the Cube (or Hexahedron, six sides), the Octahedron (eight sides), the Dodecahedron (twelve sides), and the Icosahedron (twenty sides). The cube can be seen if you study the hexagon of Metatron's Cube and the three major lines that intersect the center of the central circle. The exception to this direct correspondence of the platonic solids to the lines of Metatron's Cube is the dodecahedron, although according to the video below by artist Charles Gilchrist, this exception can be eliminated by layering additional Metatron's Cubes over top of each other, out of which the dodecahedron is then formed.
In the times of the ancient Greeks, the five platonic solids were important as they symbolized the elements from which the universe was built. Interestingly enough, in more recent times a "mostly regular" Icosahedron has served as a way of visualizing our planet, as the basis of Buckminster Fuller's dymaxion map of the Earth.
Who Is Metatron and Where Does This Geometric Figure Show Up?
hexagram or so called Star of David, a primary element of Metatron's cube, can also be found in various Hindu yantras, and in some Buddhist iconography. The hexagram is also seen by many in the new age community as a flattened illustration of the three dimensional star tetrahedron, referred to as the merkabah, which is believed to be a celestial chariot or light spirit body used for spiritual travel. All of this illustrates the cross cultural significance of the Metatron's cube and its elements. Metatron's Cube was also embraced by alchemists and individuals like Leonardo DaVinci.

Temple Metatron: Original Abstract Acrylic Sacred Geometry Art
The Flower of Life Merkabah form as Mandala

Take a few moments to stare at the image, and notice how your mind visually shifts and reorganizes the Metatron's cube mandala so that new shapes and patterns emerge. In this way, the actual viewing of the painting is an act of creation between you and the picture.
This piece, Temple Metatron by contemporary artist Luke Orsborne, illustrates the way Metatron's cube can interlock with other Metatron's cubes, creating even more complex and striking images. I digitally altered the original design for Temple Meatron, which I have made available as the mandala poster print above. Metatron's Cube and the US Government

If you take a look at the back of a dollar bill, you will see the familiar pyramid with an eye along with the Great Seal on the opposite side. The thirteen stars on the seal are arranged in a slightly different manner than the thirteen circles of Metatron's Cube, but they none the less create a hexagram. And if one examines the points of the hexagram or Star of David, superimposed on the pyramid on the left, at each point there is a letter. These letters can be arranged to form the word MASON. In addition, you will find that various elements of Washington DC may be seen to correspond to a flattened Metatron's cube.
The free masons, however, deny involvement with developing the iconography on the US dollar, and if you read Wikipedia's history of the Great Seal, you will find that though Ben Franklin was indeed a mason, and did sit on the initial committee to design the seal, you will also discover that there were three separate committees, through which the seal's final design changed and evolved. There is no hard evidence to show that the key players in the design were masons, though perhaps the masons and the designers of the seal were drawing from similar fascinations and influences. There certainly was a masonic presence during the formation of the early US government. If and how that relates to Metatron's Cube and where that leads is for you to decide.

Flower of Life and Metatron's Cube on Wikipedia
:This article deals with the Flower of Life in real-world references. For the same-named flower in fiction, see Flower of Life (fiction).
Category: Image - :Flower-of-Life-small.svg|300px|frame|right|The Flower of Life.
The Flower of Life is the modern name given to a geometrical figure composed of multiple evenly-spaced, overlapping circles, that are arranged so that they form a flower-like pattern with a sixfold symmetry like a hexagon. The center of each circle is on the circumference of six surrounding circles of the same diameter.
It is considered by some to be a symbol of sacred geometry, said to contain ancient, religious value depicting the fundamental forms of space and time. FlowerofLife.org - Meditation workshopsSanGraal.com - Information regarding the Flower of Life, from the son of a Mason. In this sense, it is a visual expression of the connections life weaves through all sentient beings, believed to contain a type of Akashic Record of basic information of all living things.PaganAndProud.BravePages.com - Sacred Geometry
There are many spiritual beliefs associated with the Flower of Life; for example, depictions of the five Platonic Solids are found within the symbol of Metatron's Cube, which may be derived from the Flower of Life pattern. These platonic solids are geometrical forms which are said to act as a template from which all life springs.
Another notable example of that which may be derived from the Flower of Life is the Tree of Life. This has been an important symbol of sacred geometry for many people from various religious backgrounds. Particularly, the teachings of the Kabbalah have dealt intricately with the Tree of Life.
According to Drunvalo Melchizedek, in the Judeo-Christian tradition, the stages which construct the Seed of Life are said to represent the seven days of Creation, in which Elohim (God/concept of divinity) created life; , , , . Within these stages, among other things, are the symbols of the Vesica Piscis (an ancient religious symbol) and Borromean rings (which represents the Holy Trinity).

Metatron's Cube Beyond Religion
Spiritual Realities Larger Than Orthodox Tradition
Metatron's Cube, which itself is an intricately interconnected figure, can interlock with other Metatron's Cubes the way honeycombs interlock. Much like a fractal, Metatron's cube can also be resized, so that smaller ones can fit inside of larger ones, and vice versa, on to infinity. To me, beyond the visual impact of Metatron's Cube, it is this ability to infinitely interconnect that makes the figure so appealing.
All things are connected. All things interlink. This idea is found in Thich Nhat Hanh's concept of interbeing, as well as the myth of Indra's Net. We can see this interconnection through the intertwined complexity of flourishing ecosystems. We can also see it in the cascading negative effects accumulating from the assault on our interdependent environment as seen in our current and unprecedented holocene extinction period. This interconnectivity and interdependence to me is the message spoken by Metatron's Cube. And in the case of this particular figure, the interlinking is one of order, harmony and beauty, which speaks to a wide, awe inspiring, and inclusive universe. Like Buckminster Fuller's icosahedron based Dymaxion Map, there is no one correct orientation.
In this way, Metatron's Cube as a starting point for contemplation and meditation can help bring us a of sense wonder, connection, and an inner peace, which may allow us to begin setting up the right conditions for peace in the wider field of humanity. This transformation of basic and raw materials or realities of the world into "gold" is a form of inner alchemy, revealing our spiritual light. The symbol of the Metatron's Cube, if viewed properly, is one vehicle which can lend support to such a transformation.
