Mevagissey is a delightful fishing village on the South Coast of England in picturesque Cornwall. Tucked away in the West Country as it is, Mevagissey is a popular holiday destination. But unlike many holiday villages around Britain, Mevagissey manages to retain its character as a place where people live and work. That means that alongside the ice-cream shops and varied pubs, you can still find working fishing boats, nets being mended, a friendly and busy post office, baker, green-grocer and other staples of day-to-day life. It also has the great advantage of being right on the doorstep of several hugely popular tourist attractions, such as The Lost Gardens of Heligan and the fabulous Eden Project. Places to Eat

The Harbour Tavern offers good pub grub with a great harbour view.There is no shortage of great places to eat in Mevagissey, from a hot pasty on a bench by the harbour, via a vindaloo in River Street, to a romantic dinner at the Salamander. Food for all tastes is available around the centre of the village, and if you go a little further afield we can offer fast food favourites in St Austell, and country pubs out in the sticks.

No need to get bored, whatever the weather!

Out of season you might find you have to wait five minutes though... So what do you like to do? Take the kids crabbing in the harbour? Stride along the coastal path?
