Long ago we had to decide if we wanted to offer inexpensive website design or top quality website design. We decided to build our business here in Miami a town famous for Miami Vice based upon a reputation for getting it right not by being the cheapest. We decided that if we charge a fair price then we won't have to say, "sorry" later that parts of the website don't look right, function well or that the wording is poorly written.

This doesn't mean that our services are expensive; we charge a fair price for what you get. Everyone likes to get value for their money, you do, I do and all of my clients like to know they are getting a fair deal. We have all heard the saying, "Good things are rarely cheap and cheap things are rarely good" and it is a true statement.

We don't have a one person shop where one designer does it all; we use the team approach. What this means is that when you hire us you get four different people working on your website design project. The reason we use four different people is that they have four very different jobs to do and we simply don't find these skills in one person. With our Miami Website Designers you will have:

1. A website designer with a minimum of a four year degree in design.
2. A programmer also with a university degree of at least four years.
3. Basic search engine optimization will be built into your website by our SEO expert
4. Our copywriter who will write all the text for you will have a Master's Degree in Journalism.

The reason we need to have four people doing these jobs is that we have never found one person who is able to do all of these things. It has to do with the left brain vs right brain problem in which everyone is one or the other. Analytical people like programmers are said to be left brain dominant. People who are more creative like website designers are said to be right brain dominant. Since people are one or the other, we have found this is the only way to get the job done properly.

The point is that like the old saying goes, "Quality is remembered long after the price is forgotten". We wanted to be remembered and to get repeat and referral business. The only way to do this is by charging a fair price and giving superior quality work.

Remember this blog began with a statement that absolutely any person or company can call themselves professional website designers. Can you imagine going to a dentist only to find that the dentist simply decided to call himself a dentist one day without any training? Sounds silly right? You know that if you go to an attorney you will find someone with years of college training. Real Estate agents (in Florida) are licensed by the Department of Professional Regulation after passing a difficult exam. When a real estate agent does anything wrong they can lose their license and have to answer a formal complaint from the Department of Professional Regulation.

Now we will list all the requirements a person or firm must meet before they can call themselves "Professional Website Designers".

I wish we had something to fill in the blanks with but there are no regulations at all governing website designers. Do a search at your favorite search engine for "website designer took my money" and you'll see thousands of complaints.

If YOU want to call yourself a professional website designer there is no law at all to stop you.

So how do you know what you are going to get when you hire someone to build a website for you in an industry filled with more con artists than graphic artists? The problem is that when the website designer takes your money and runs there is little you can do.

Call the police and they will tell you it is a civil matter. Call an attorney and you'll be required to hand over a retainer of $2,000.00 or more just to explain what happened. Of course there is no assurance that you'll ever collect after you file a lawsuit.

So what happens when people lose their money and still need a website designer? They call it "experience" and a "lesson learned" and then some of them contact us and we get the job done.
