Miami is well-known as a global city because of its importance in finance, commerce, culture, fashion, print media, entertainment, the arts and international trade. An international center for popular entertainment in television, music, fashion, film, and the performing arts, Miami also has a powerful influence internationally. The city is also home to the largest concentration of international banks in the United States, as well as home to many international company headquarters, and television studios. The city's Port of Miami is the number one cruise/passenger port in the world and is known for accommodating the largest volume of cruise ships in the world, and is home to many major cruise line headquarters.

Seeing Miami, Florida For Free 

The City's Art Museum located on West Flagler Street has free admission every second Saturday of the month for the entire family and if you're under 12 years of age or you're a student with a valid student ID you can get in free every day. The museum offers a variety of artwork with its main theme being post WWII American Artwork. And on free Saturdays the museum offers free activities for the entire family.

Next door to the art museum is the Historical Museum of Southern Florida. The Historical museum offers a free family day every second Saturday of the month as well. The historical museum offers artifacts an antiques on the history of Florida its cities.

On the first Saturday of every month the Adrienne Arsht Center for Performing Arts offers free family activities from the month of November through the month of May. The center offers special performances and crafts with three indoor theaters and one outdoor theater where Jazz, Cabaret, Dance, Drama, Opera and Comedy acts are performed.
