Miami Vice TV Show

Little did anyone realize at the time, the impact of this show. I remember NOT going out on Friday nights for a long time. I remember falling head-over-heels for Don Johnson! The clothes, hair styles, sunglasses, cars, alligator and the beard stubble, that is still popular today!

Yes, I'm a Miami Vice junkie! I absolutely loved this 80s drama TV show when it first came on! It got to the point where I never did anything on Friday nights anymore, this tv show was my entertainment for Friday night! No matter where I was or what I was doing, I would rush home to watch this show at 10:00. I love it more now.

I have always been a huge Don Johnson fan, so you will see a lot of Don Johnson here. To see the fashions, hair styles, cars and boats, music and the scenery of Miami are fantastic! Let's not forget "Elvis" the alligator. YES there was "Elvis" the alligator!

Miami Vice Freefall

The Final Show

My heart was breaking the entire two hours of this final show. I was trying to watch and pay attention. The whole time I just kept thinking, NO MORE? I was having such a hard time realizing there wouldn't be any more. I can finally get a life back on Friday nights but I didn't want to, I just wanted to keep watching.

This video has a little bit of all the cast, I hope you enjoy it.

The Milk Run

Season One, Episode 12

Season one, episode 12, The Milk Run was one of my personal favorites. I remember this show so well. Two very naive kids trying to make a quick buck selling drugs. Like every TV drama series there are shows you remember that you liked or didn't like but OH, this was such a good episode!

A Bullet For Crockett

Sonny & Rico Drug Dealing

Great music by Phil Collins, Into The Air Tonight. Great car scenes and Sonny gets shot. The music, setting and the fact Sonny got shot, still gives me goose bumps! The "powers that be" made a very good choice in making the Ferrari white, so much easier to see the chase scenes at night.

Sonny Crockett's Fashion Style

Don Johnson

Miami Vice Clothes

Classic Miami Vice fashion style made a huge impact in men's fashion. Don Johnson's typical Italian sport coat, T-shirt, white linen pants, and slip-on loafers with no socks became a huge fashion hit. Unconstructed blazers, shiny fabric jackets, and lighter pastels were the "approved" colors.

Sonny Crockett's unshaven appearance sparked a huge copy cat fashion trend of men not shaving and have that day old beard stubble. Don Johnson with that beard stubble? Very hot! Unshaven day-old stubble face hair is still very popular today,

During one episode, Crockett and Tubbs wore five to eight fashionable outfits each. Always dressing in shades of pink, blue, green, peach, fuchsia and the show's other "approved" colors. Designers such as Vittorio Ricci, Gianni Versace, and Hugo Boss were consulted in keeping the male leads looking trendy. Costume designer Bambi Breakstone, who traveled to Milan, Paris, and London in search of new clothes, testified that, "The concept of the show is to be on top of all the latest fashion trends in Europe". Jodi Tillen, the costume designer for the first season, along with Michael Mann set the style. The abundance of pastel colors on the show reflected Miami's Art deco architecture.

Many of the styles popularized by the Miami Vice TV show, such as the t-shirt under pastel suits, no socks, rolled up sleeves, and Ray-Ban sunglasses, have today become the standard image of 1980s culture. The influence of Miami Vice's fashions continued into the early 1990s, and to some extent still persists today.

The Wedding Video

Miami Vice

I had a visitor ask me about the ring during the Wedding between Don Johnson and Sheena Easton. From what I can see in this video they both had simple gold wedding bands. I don't know what size the ring was though. Thanks Kimberly, enjoy the video!

Hey Richard! I've done some research on your comment. I can't find any information out about her. No clue whom she played on the show or even a picture of her any where in the cast information. If you can let me know more about her part/character, I'd be happy to add her in.
