Who is Michael Hirte

Michael Hirte, 44 years old, was working as a truck driver back in 1991, as an accident was going to change his life forever. Being in a coma for the following two months, he woke up hobbling and being blind on one eye. Being handicapped in this way he wasn't able to get back to his job and also with some offered temporary work he couldn't keep up. He became unemployed, had to live on unemployment compensation and his wife left after 5 years of marriage.

In summer 2004 he took his harmonica, which he played since he was eight years old, and started playing the harmonica in the streets of Potsdam. Becoming a busker cost him quite some effort at the beginning, but the reaction of the audience taught him different. People were amazed of his music, although he never learned to read notes. And also it was this audience in Potsdam who suggested him to apply for the supertalent show.

Although being Supertalent 2008 now and having his first record contract in the pocket, he doesn't want to miss the streets of Potsdam in future. After the stress of the supertalent show he is craving for the peace and quietness of the streets.

For those who are next to, Michael Hirte will give his first concert as Superstar 2008 in Wiesbaden, Germany, on the 21st of December.
