HERE'S WHAT I THINK

Michael Moore Should Run For President

I am a huge fan of Michael Moore. I respect and admire his ability to inform the public of what is really happening in America. I support his agenda's for Universal Health Care and the War in Iraq.

I'm disheartened by what's going on in America today. I think that we've lost sight of what's important, like taking care of the elderly, education and health care. Corporate America with the governments help is eroding our values and our infrastructure. Our schools are crumbling but we have multi-million dollar sports arenas. Big businesses are moving plants overseas with tax breaks from our government. Elderly people are being dumped on skid row after being released from the hospital. Something is wrong and we need to fix it.

Michael Moore has the guts to speaks the truth and that's a hard thing for a lot of people. I know a girl I used to work with who would rather look the other way and discount what is really happening in America. She says that the media lies and Michael Moore is a "Whack", of course she's never seen his movies. But that's the consensus...I have an Aunt who feels the same way.

People don't want to face the fact that this country is in big trouble. It's kind of like not wanting to be told that you stink or that you can't dance. People want to live in their own microcosm. It's easier to look the other way then to make a difference. Michael Moore is telling us what stinks, he's telling us the truth and he would make a great President!

Yes, you're right!

M-lo says:

With all the wealth America has, it needs a president like Michael Moore to ensure that such wealth doesn't remain in the hands of the very very few while the majority languish in an abyss of uncertainty. USA is too obsessed with money today and thinks it should and can impose itself on the rest of the world. It speaks of lofty ideas like democracy and free and fair elections while rigging Nicaraguan elections if they don't seem to be going the way Washington wants. Michael could fix that.

maria says:

Michael Moore would be a great president
he knows why our government does not work
therefore he knows how it can be fixed
and he really cares about everyday people

bdkz says:

adamjthompson86, Interesting thoughts! You say that his documentaries are inaccurate, yet every presidential candidate out there is running inaccurate commercials of about themselves and why they should be president.

As for his weight I don't think that should be an issue, nor should skin color, gender, height, eye color etc. Some people are genetically heavy, body type should not be a qualification for the presidency!

mulberry says:

Well, I think he provides a much needed voice. I doubt I would vote for him as president, but ...

kidgrifter says:

I would vote for him

The_Book_Garden says:

I wasn't aware that any US President had qualiications for doing the job! Dubya surely hasn't any apart from a daddy who has done the job and the oil giants who tell him what to do, Reagan sure as hell wasn't qualified!
It would be great to see someone as devoted to furthering the public good as MM in the top job, but I think it's certainly in the realms of fantasy!

jeff p. says:

This country was commandeered and is now run by elitists. We are "the unwashed."

No way, Monkeybrain!

KimGiancaterino says:

MM is a self-promoting, shameless, anti-American gasbag. Oops... I left out hypocrite! His so-called documentaries are replete with factual errors. Sorry... I can't take this guy seriously.

greg2213 says:

Heh. I'd love it if MM ran for Pres. The lying sack of bullfeathers would be exposed for the world to see. The ridicule would either reform him or completely break him.

He'd be smart to stay far away from that idea.

MM is only interesting in furthering MMs own warped opinions. He'd make a truly awful pres.

paramo47 says:

As soon as they build a country called One Sided Opinion, I will vote for Michael Moore. Until then, no thank you. He give 'facts' the way HE sees them and is very misleading on many things. We never have had nor never will have a perfect President. Perhaps that is something you should think about.

pyle_mountain says:

Michael Moore should move to the middle east and live with terrorists for a few years. He's not worthy to breath the air of our precious Country - much less be president!

adamjthompson86 says:

I agree that our country has some serious problems, but I disagree with MM on what some of them are, and I certainly disagree with him on how they should be solved. That aside, I have serious doubts about the accuracy of some of his documentaries. For example, his contention that Cuban health care is way better than the USA's.

I also must say that I think there is some merit to the argument that a person who is supposedly a champion of health care issues should at least do what is necessary to maintain a reasonably healthy weight themselves. If MM lost weight and started a campaign encouraging others to do the same, I think he could be of great positive impact.

President? I don't think so.

Bruce_Beerdrinker says:

he's no better than anybody he goes after, he wants everyone to hear his point of view and agree on it, and since he's a director he has the access to the medium to put his viewpoints out there.

fefe says:

I believe in limited government. Michael Moore would only grow it. Go Ron Paul.

CheekyChimp says:

Michael Moore should just RUN and eat less! He is a prime example of "Wag The Dog". Just because he makes a movie and makes it look real doesn't make it true.
You will be crushed when you find out that Tim Allen isn't REALLY Santa Clause. The real Santa Clause is still at it so don't worry. That was just a movie too. But it seemed sooo real. Oh and the check is in the mail.
Michael Moore making a movie on health care? He should take an interest in his own health.
I am waiting for the movie that he and Rosie O'Donnell will make about how being overweight is really the best way to go through life and back it up with lots of facts and charts and cute anti-wealthy jibes all the while making a fortune to keep their fridges jam packed. When they make that movie I will buy plenty of Lay's potato chip stock because people like you will believe their "truths". See Ya At The Movies!

AnglerUniversity says:

George W. Bush graduated from Yale, received his MBA from Harvard - prior to becoming the Governor of Texas. These qualifications are not to be overlooked, even if his wealthy family allowed him entrance to these prestigious academic institutions.

Let's hear some of Michael Moore's qualifications! Real, honest, (not BDS - Bush Derangement Syndrome), qualifications. I'm listening...

Is there anyone else out there that dislikes Michael Moore as mush as I do?? Hop in here - give me a break! Let your thoughts be known!!!!

AnglerUniversity says:

Although I am no fan of "corporate greed", I do not believe that Michael Moore posses any qualifications at all to even be elected as a local Dog Catcher (please, no offense to you Dog Catchers out there!).

If he does posses the qualifications to be the leader of the free world - you certainly haven't put any of them forward...

Yes, there are a lot of things in this country that stink (high abortion rates, uncontrolled crime, academia charging over $200,000 for a college education), however I just don't see Michael Moore being capable of doing anything other than TELLING US ABOUT IT. Good argument though, and I respect your position...
