Michelle Yeoh - Deadly and Beautiful
She may have won a Miss Malaysia Beauty Pageant, but did you know that Michelle Yeoh does not have a black belt in any of the Fighting styles?
She did however learn Ballet for a number of years as a teenager and it is those ballet skills that she uses to great effect in her fight scenes.
Michelle Yeoh was born in Ipoh, Western Malaysia in 1962. She spent her teenage years in London, England where she studied Ballet. She grew up speaking fluent English and Malay.
Michelle Yeoh is now based in Hong Kong, and while she does also speak good Cantonese Chinese, she cannot read the Chinese language, so for Chinese movies, she has to learn her lines phonetically.

Michelle Yeoh - Action Movie Star
Michelle has been a movie star in Asia for years, but first broke into the American consciousness as the Chinese agent Wan Li in the James Bond film, Tomorrow Never Dies.
Yeoh has kicked alongside the martial arts greats - Jet Li, Chow Yun-Fat and of course, Jackie Chan. They've all had to learn to share the stage with a strong woman who can give as good as they can.
Michelle does have a softer side, though, as seen in Crouching Tiger, Memoirs of a Geisha, The Children of Huang Shi. Most recently she has ventured into politics by portraying the Burmese democratic leader - Aung San Suu Kyi as portrayed in the 2011 movie The Lady . But there is still no competition for her as one of the greatest female action stars ever.

Michelle Yeoh: Some of her recent movies
True Legend (2010)I've read two different synopses for this one, so I'm not precisely sure just what it's about. Except for kick-butt fighting. Yeoh plays Sister Yu, isn't in any fight scenes in the trailer but it looks pretty good. Came out in the UK last year. Not sure when it'll be available in the US.
Reign of Assassins (2010)
Yeoh plays assassin Zeng Jing, who steals the magic remains of a monk, then starts a new life as a fabric merchant in the big city. While at the bank one day, Zeng fights off a gang of robbers but is recognized by their leader, the Wheel King (Xueqi Wang), who has a bone to pick with his long-lost protégé. She's still got that great fighting form! Trailer
The Children of Huang Shi (2008)
About young British journalist, George Hogg, who with the assistance of a courageous Australian nurse and a Chinese partisan fighter, saves a group of orphaned children during the Japanese occupation of China in 1937. Official Trailer
Babylon A.D. (2008)
Veteran-turned-mercenary Thoorop takes the high-risk job of escorting a woman from Russia to China. Little does he know that she is host to an organism that a cult wants to harvest in order to produce a genetically modified Messiah. With Vin Diesel.
The Mummy: Tomb of the Dragon Emperor (2008)
In the Far East, trouble-seeking father-and-son duo Rick and Alex O'Connell unearth the mummy of the first Emperor of Qin -- a shape-shifting entity who was cursed by a wizard centuries ago.

- The first film I saw with this actress was SUPERCOP (Police Story 3) -- wow! She made the film for me as much as Jackie Chan. I've since seen a few more films with her, and have always enjoyed her screen presence.

- Wow, I didn't know someone did a lense on her. The only similarity that I have with her is the name Michelle and we are both from Ipoh, Perak, Malaysia. You have a very nicely done lense. I'm still trying to find the time to start mine!
