Michigan Junk Yards : Junks are More than Treasure

We're all familiar with the old saying that goes, "somebody else's trash could be another person's treasure", well Michigan Junk Yards are not only familiar with it - they took it to heart and made money off it in the process.

From Trash

Salvage yards are often depicted as dark, dingy, unwelcoming lots guarded by ferocious junk yard dogs and inhabited by people looking as fierce and ruthless. While I would like to say my usual "nothing is father from the truth" statement, unfortunately some of them do look that way and are guarded and inhabited by dogs and people, respectively, that are both fierce and fierce-looking.

On a happier note, if you are looking to find auto parts to complete your vehicle restoration project or simply to replace a busted mirror or taillight on your good old ride, then junk yards are definitely where you should go.

To Treasure

Junk yards are a haven for vehicle restorers or hobbyists and those just looking to find a specific part for an old-model car. Needless to say, they are also the next best thing for people on the lookout for a good bargain on office equipment parts and other stuff people just want to get rid off.

Oftentimes, when people want to get rid of their old ride or when they have realized that a restoration project is an exercise in futility they would get in touch with the nearest salvage yard to get the despicable vehicle off their garages quick. Junk yards or salvage yards make their money by towing the vehicles and then selling it piece by piece, or in this case, part by part.

Michigan Junk Yards: Putting it together

Not all salvage yards in Michigan are what they have been depicted to be, i.e., dark, dingy, dangerous, snake-infested, etc. Although some of them really are dark, dingy and snake-infested, most have sophisticated inventory systems you would be surprised by. That is how they can afford to just take calls from customers inquiring about a specific part and its price. Salvage yards like these have taken the business to the next level and would probably have slightly higher prices for the items they are selling.

However, if you are not in the mood to go junk yard-hopping trying to locate a specific part by yourself, or worse have to take the part off from the vehicle it is attached to, then you are better off going to Michigan Junk Yards than getting down and dirty on just any old junk yard lot.
