-Communication is the most important trait of a good eBayer! Always respond to your buyers ASAP and let them know how important they are to you!

-Be honest when describing your items! Some people don't care if there's a hole in the box!

-Use clear close-up photos with a white background--unless, of course, your item is white! =]

-Price your item comparably to others on eBay. Be careful not to lower your price so much that you make the item appear worthless. Sure you want to entice buyers, but a too low price could turn them off.

-If you have more than one of the same item, don't list all of them at once. If there is an over-abundance of something it lowers the value.

-Work with your buyer to get them the best deal possible. If they have a good experience with you, they may come back!

-If you have a lot of items to sell consider opening an eBay store. For a small fee you can have a storefront with categories, promotion boxes and newsletters! Plus that fee is tax deductible, should you decide to make it a legitimate business.

- Always ship your item as soon as possible

- Choose a box that has at least 1 inch of space on each side of your item. Leave more space for fragile items.

- Make sure to use a stronger box for fragile items.

- Use bubble wrap or packing peanuts for anything that could be dented or broken in transit. (Be careful not to over-pack.)

- Use packing tape along all seams and openings on the box to keep out moisture.

- Try to use clean recycled materials whenever possible. Your local drugstore might be happy to hand over their used shipping boxes.

- Keep in mind that many collectors love the item's packaging as much as the item itself, often using it as a display case. Treat every item as if it was priceless (because it is to the person who just bought it).
