Garden City, KS Airport Raceway
July, 13th 2008Another week flew by! Ran pretty bad on Friday here at TSK. Something was bound up in the rear end... But I went to Garden City's Airport Raceway Saturday and and it was MUCH better, thanks to my dad's hard work.
The track in Garden City is perfect for these cars. The track was fast, smooth and tacky in practice. However, by the time the first heat rolled around it was miserably dry. I had to start last, due to no points there, and it's tough to pass on a track this dry. I could hardly see or breath. I was up to third, from my seventh place starting point, before I would lose it pushing too hard. This happend 3 times. Pretty ugly. In the second heat things went much better. They watered the track right before we went out and there was much better racing. I ran third in this one, lost the front two on a missed shift on the last restart. Main event time, Started 12 not sure where I wound up it was a very fast race, thirty laps with out a single caution . I think I ran 7-8 but I will update when I know for sure.
