An interesting post. I'm a librarian and we're planning on having a "the Hobbit" party. This gave me the idea of helping each child find a suitable Middle-Earth name.

I love the Lord of the Rings, but all the information on this lens (as well as all your other LotR-lenses) tells me there is a looooot I don't know. Tolkien really did create an entirely new world with his books. Thank you for compiling all this!

How cool is this, you have created an amazing lens here. I always say it is amazing what other people are good at and in to and this is a prime example of something very different and highly interesting... Thank you.
    Warm Regards,

My name is also ellen, but my mom (crazy english professor) named me for the old english noun for courage or bravery. Was in Beowulf, which is one of her favorites..

What an amazing lens, Tinw! Names have always been a source of confusion with new Plaza members - who first try for one of the "well-known" names, only to find them already taken, so then the experimentation, and finally frustration sets in, and we wind up with Legolas 4217 or **ARwEn!!~ This lens goes a long way toward helping people avoid the pitfalls of naming themselves something that they don't want to spend the rest of their lives being- like Lemonfart. THANK YOU!
