Forget about Red vs. Blue
With the exception of some new adventure sports, extremes are seldom a good thing. The same is true in politics.
Citizens of the United States represent every possible point along the political spectrum, from one extreme to the other. When people at one extreme of the policial continuum control the government and implement policies which reflect their extreme values, nearly every one else loses.
It is time we began to find solutions to our country's problems that consider and address the needs of all Americans. It is time to set aside policies that only satisfy one extreme or the other. It is time we all met on the Middle Ground, a place where we can work together to create policies and programs which help all of us.
This doesn't mean people at the extremes should move their values and thinking toward the center of the road. It means they need to work with those who do not agree with them to solve our problems in ways that everyone can live with.
Keep your political ideals, but meet in the middle to forge a coalition of all Americans. Let's get together at the Middle Ground.
