THE TWILIGHT SAGA BOOK "MIDNIGHT SUN" SHOULD NOT HAVE BEEN LEAKED AS A PARTIAL DRAFT!
The leak of the first twelve draft chapters of Midnight Sun, the fifth book in the Twilight Saga, was a dreadful betrayal of Stephenie Meyer as the author and friend who brought us the Twilight Saga. I totally understand - though I am very disappointed - that she feels unable to complete the book at this time.
Please read Ms. Meyer's statement regarding the leak and then let us know how you feel.

- My first feeling was that there was no way to continue. Writing isn't like math; in math, two plus two always equals four no matter what your mood is like. With writing, the way you feel changes everything. If I tried to write Midnight Sun now, in my current frame of mind, James would probably win and all the Cullens would die, which wouldn't dovetail too well with the original story. In any case, I feel too sad about what has happened to continue working on Midnight Sun, and so it is on hold indefinitely.

That makes the betrayal a million times worse than if it had been leaked by a stranger. She trusted this person to read her finished chapters and give her feedback while keeping it to him or herself. But I am still hoping that someday she will decide to finish the book. I've read the leaked chapters quite a few time and they are awesome!!! I would love to read the finished book. I still have not read anything but the first chapter which was in the back of my Twilight book, because I think it was wrong of whoever leaked the draft. Stephenie Meyer did put the draft on her website, but she asked people not to read it and so I don't think anyone should until it is published. And anyways, it isn't finished yet, it hasn't been edited, and you are just reading a rough draft that will probably be changed quite a bit. You would be better off just waiting, which I will be doing until it comes out.

It is of course a violation of the trust Ms. Meyer put in the person who leaked - if it's not a publicity stunt - but authors write to be read and though I understand she feels hurt, no author can leave a story unfinished. And since Midnight Sun is unfinished - well, the leak is - I don't think it'll take Ms. Meyer very long to get over her pain. After all, writing IS a form of therapy.

- I really hope she will realize she has younger fans who don't have patience to wait for Midnight Sun! My whole sixth grade class is readin the Twilight Saga. We are all waiting for the fifth book. What the person did was wrong. I understand. I would feel Betrayed, too. During the Connecticut Mastery Test, We need books to read when we are done. I don't have a Book! Please Stephanie. Finish for your young fans! (and Bella and Renesmee And all the Cullens)
