Mighty Putty Review - Is Mighty Putty A Scam?

Do you want to find out if Mighty Putty is a scam? Do you want to find out if it works, then check out this Mighty Putty review.

Mighty Putty is a two part epoxy with resin and a hardener used for repairing plastic, ceramic, metal, wood, and almost anything. An epoxy is an adhesive that dries when a chemical reaction occurs between the two parts. These are among the strongest adhesives on the market. The resin is a clear to translucent yellow brown viscous substance from plants used in adhesives and other substances. The hardener is a substance or mixture added to promote curing of the substance.

The two part epoxy comes in sticks that are cut, kneaded and then applied to the object. When activated the product's color goes from green to white as the two substances react chemically. The epoxy should be cured or dried for twenty four hours before the object is used. After it is cured the epoxy is totally safe and can be sanded, painted or drilled. The product can be used for anything from small crafts to large home improvements. There is a 100% satisfaction that comes with it at the time of purchase.

How Mighty Putty Works?

Advertisements on theMighty Putty claim that it fixes, fills, and seals almost any surface and will mold to any shape. It can even be used to seal leaky pipes while they are leaking provided the surface is clean. (Why wouldn't it be clean with all that water flowing over them?)The Billy Mays infomercial even shows a truck being pulled by a chain that has been repaired with it. Basically, the product works when the resin and hardener react chemically to form a strong adhesive bond.

Mighty Putty Availabality

This super epoxy is advertised both on television and online. It is available for purchase during television promotions and through online sites. There are several big chain stores that also carry it.

Mighty Putty Ingredients

The ingredients of the resin include glass oxide, magnesium silicate, bisphenol A/ epichlorohydrindgebpa based epoxy resin, crystalline silica and the secret ingredient specific to the product. (Shoo! These are big chemical names!)
The ingredients of the hardener include magnesium silicate, polymercaptan curing agent mixture, aminoethylpyperazine, titanium dioxide, aluminum oxide, crystalline silica, and of course that secret ingredient. (Eek, more big chemical names!)

Once cured Mighty Putty is 100% not toxic. During its use, however, there are some side effects and safety precautions to note. Care should be taken to avoid eye contact, skin contact, inhalation and ingestion. Both the resin and the fixative can be skin, eye, and respiratory irritants and with any chemical there is always the possibility of an allergic reaction although it is highly unlikely. The product should be used in an area that is well ventilated and never around an open flame. Care should also be taken to make sure it doesn't fall down a drain. (Bad news if it does!)

Outside Reviews Of Mighty Putty

Reviews on Mighty Putty are mixed as far as it being the super hero of all adhesives but overall the reviews are pretty good. Some consumers comment on the price and the fact there are similar product that are cheaper. Others remarked about the odor and the length of time to actually receive the epoxy. Overall, however, reviews are pretty favorable. Consumer Reports reviewed it in its August 2008 edition and called it "moderately mighty". Also, their review said the bonding was excellent for plastic and metal.

Mighty Putty is a super epoxy. Does it work as shown in the infomercial? Actually, the answer is pretty much yes, except it is doubtful it could hold up under a 350 pound stress test. For those needing a stong epoxy adhesive, Might Putty is an excellet choice.
