What's Life Got to Do with It?
Another year is coming to an end. Some of us are already looking forward to the holidays and to a brand new year while others just don't have the time to think about it.So just what do we want for next year? A cool million would be my guess- and of course, that'd be a verrry nice thing to have, wouldn't it?
But does money have to always be the first and one thing we think about every hour, and every day? Or is it just me? ( he he.. ) And is that bad?
Probably not- because money is important. But so is great health, family and other equally important stuff. But wouldn't it be great to have everything? Wonder what it feels like to be a big time tycoon like the Trump man.
A million dollars would be great- it's a huge bonus to most of us. But while we work towards that first million, we're happy to know we've got people that care and love us for who we are. And a roof over our head. A peaceful country to live in, where we can do anything, and go anywhere.
Chill out with friends and families, and have a swell time. Hmmmm.. we do have a lot to be thankful for don't we? Doesn't that make you feel like a million dollars? Happy Thanksgiving, A very Merry X'mas and a Happy New Year to all!
Don't understand what girls want? Check this out-

BILL MANTLO
When I heard that prolific Hulk writer ( during the 70s and the 80s) Bill Mantlo was struck by a hit and run driver and suffered a closed-head traumatic brain injury from which he has never recovered, I was shocked to say the least.
Shocked that someone whose work I've admired and loved as a comic book fan had this happen to him.
I mean, he used to write all those comic books I loved! How could something so cruel happen to Bill... I thought. Happen to one of my favorite writers, who gave me so much joy when I read about the adventures of the characters he wrote about... and then it hit me.
I realised- or at least, remember that our lives are all too brief, and that whether we liked it or not- we have to accept that our lives could end in a moment- and without so much as a warning or a notice. Certainly, Bill did not deserve the fate life chose to deal him with- but it happened. And we pray for him.
Please click on the link below for more information on Bill and how you can lend your support to one of the most profilic writers of his era.

There are many versions of Thor set in alternate realities, timelines, Universes, not to mention clone storylines, transformations, and etc...Here, we'll check them out but we'll forget all about labelling the different nutty earths they're supposed to be from and just keep stuff simple so that we'll all save ourselves from a realllyy big headache..deal?
Ultimate Avengers Thor ( Alternate Universe Thor..)
Ultimate Thor is unlike the Thor of the Marvel Universe where we're most familiar with, as his godhood is deliberately kept shredded in a cloud of mystery and doubt- Until finally In Ultimates vol.2 #13 it is revealed that he was indeed as he claimed, the Nordic god of thunder! Thunderstrike ( Thor stand- in )
Thunderstrike is Eric Masterson- an architect, who was merged with the mighty Thor by Odin, the ruler of Asgard and lord- and the father of Thor. It wasn't long before Odin was revealed to have been possessed by Loki, whom as usual was up to his neck with his evil plans to destroy Thor. Finally, after a while, Eric and Thor are separated and restored to their original bodies.
Eric Masterson appeared as the new Thor in Mighty Thor #433. ( Soon afterwards, Thunderstrike gets his own title..)
Dargo Ktor ( Thor of the future..)
Dargo was the Thor of the future where Loki ruled with a fist of iron with his lackey Ulik. Dargo was the only one at that time who could lift MJOLNIR, Thor's enchanted hammer- and thus became the Thor of that era! Thor Frog?
Thor was briefly turned into a frog once agian no thanks to the evil Loki, but at least he wasn't any ordinary frog! Check out this story arc in mighty Thor #364-366... Thor (Mainstream comics Thor ..)
Thor Odinson is earth's protector and is the Thor we love and know- and we're most familiar with. This was how Thor looked for many years! Thor's looks and costume designs were envisioned by the late great Jack Kirby and no matter how many costume changes Thor's had over the years, Thor's classic costume always found it's way back into the comics and the hearts of fans.Kirby's original is pretty hard to beat. The original Thor we all know and love!
Created by Stan Lee, scripter Larry Lieber, and penciller Jack Kirby, he first appears in Journey into Mystery vol. 1, #83 (Aug. 1962).
Beta Ray Bill ( Alien wannabe Thor..)
Beta Ray Bill belongs to an alien race known as the Korbinites. Arrived in a space ship which he and some of the last of his race escaped destruction and death from their exploding planet no thanks to the demon Surtur! Thor Earth x (alternate universe Thor)
Thor of this earth ( told ya..) was transformed into a woman by the crafty God of Mischief himself, Loki, after convincing Odin that Thor needed another lesson in humility! Who needs enemies when you have a little brother like Loki around? Thor Girl (alien Thor chick!)
Tarene traveled to Earth after Thanos left her planet destroyed and in ruins, and on earth she modeled herself as an Asgardian Goddess and called herself Thorgirl. ( She was saved by Thor hence the fascination with all things Asgardian..)She uses the alias of Tara Olsen on earth.
Thor Red Norvell
Roger "Red" Norvell was brought to Asgard, home of the norse Gods, courtesy of crafty and evil Loki- and Red was actually part of a documentary news crew who met and soon quickly fell in love with Thor's girl, Lady Sif. When Sif spurned Red, Loki saw an opportunity to use Red as a pawn for another plot against Thor- offering Red powers that could equal that of Thor's- so that Red could feel like he was an equal to Thor and thus be worthy of Sif's love finally .
Thor- Donar (Earth-9907...yikes! )
Leader of the Thunder Guard, a superhero team in the employ of Von Doom( Dr. Doom! ) in this alternate earth. The Avengers once attempted a pre-emptive strike on this planet only to be driven of by the Thunder Guard. Another attempt was made later by the newest generation of Avengers. Thor today.......
THE NEW THOR! This is how Thor looks today! The Norse God of Thunder is back in his very own new series ( more below ) and a brand new spankin' outfit to boot pretty much based on the original classic shown below.
Unlike previous past costume redesigns that mostly sucked,(remember the one with a mask? yuck..) this design is perfect: it's how we would expect an Asgardian warrior God of thunder's attire to be- chain-mailed warrior armor yet regal and royal, not to mention dignified and classy. Cool!
Which costume design do you think best suits the Asgardian Norse God of Thunder?
Over the years, Thor's had many different costume re-designs. Most of them paled in comparison to the original.
Now that Thor's returned seemingly well and alive from Ragnarok, he's returned with a brand new outfit which Iooks pretty awesome. But what do you think?
THOR'S HUMBLE ORIGINS!

- Thor is created by none other than legends Stan "the man" Lee and Jack "the king" Kirby and is loosely based on the Nordic legends of the same name.
Thor of course, is the Asgardian God of Thunder, warrior and self proclaimed protector of "Midgard"( earth ) and is one of the most coolest dressed superheroes around! ( If you don't believe me, check out the winged helmet, red cape and long hair! )
Thor is also the master of the mystical hammer Mjolnir, and has strenght equal to the Hulk with a true Asgarian warrior's prowess and skills.
THE ASGARDIAN WARRIOR and GOD of THUNDER..meets CRAFTY LOKI!

- A warrior born without equal, Thor first travelled to earth in the 9th century AD in favor of the vikings who had constantly worshipped our long haired Nordic God of Thunder.
- Thor Odinson. Yes, that's the Mighty Thor's real name or rather his full monicker. When Odin ( the Ruler and Lord of Asgard ) desired a child, it was Gaea ( an elder God) that gave birth to our hero while Odin and his wife Frigga subsequently took to raising Thor.
- Thor grew up with his adopted brother and soon to be arch-enemy Loki ( pictured above ) and because Thor was extremely popular for his great strenght, wisdom, combat skills and abilities- Loki would beome resentful of Thor for this reason and the two would soon become hateful and bitter rivals forever more.
- To make matters worse, Thor recieved the enchanted hammer Mjolnir - a gift from Odin himself, on his eight birthday, which further enraged Loki even more.
ARROGANT THOR!
- Soon Thor would grow to become overly arrogant, headstrong and proud: Pained by this, Odin decided that he had to teach Thor the error of his ways by creating a human body and one with a lame leg-, and stripping Thor of all his powers and sending him to earth under the guise of one very frail human called Donald Blake!
- Donald had a walking stick when struck to the ground would turn him from a frail mortal to Thor, the mighty God of Thunder! ( Donald indeed became humbled as Odin hoped and pursued a degree in medicine, became a doctor and had a girlfriend who was a nurse- believe it or not! And her name was Jane Foster, just in case you wanted to know. ) Hey, you can share your thoughts and comments on our favorite Norse God of Thunder! Just scroll down below and look for the "comments and ravings" box! Feel free to complain about anything you don't like as well- but be nice about it because I'm a regular crybaby y'know.... thanks!
THOR'S FAMILY, FRIENDS and LOVERSEveryone in this world needs a family and some good friends to fall back on in times of trouble and even somebody to love and care for.... and Thor is no exception. Let's check the out his interesting friends, family and the gals in Thor's life....
The nurse who loved me.......
JANET FOSTER - When Thor was sent to earth by Odin in a frail mortal shell by the name of Doctor Donald Blake, a nurse named Janet Foster fell in love with our favorite son of Asgard ( Thor ) without knowing they were essentially the same guys!
- When Janet was dying at one point, Donald revealed to her that he was in fact Thor, and proceeded to take her to Asgard where Janet merged with another beautiful Goddess called Lady Sif. ( Who Thor once too, had fallen in love with and today remains his one true love...sigh..)
- Naturally the whole thing became too much for poor Janet and Odin erased any memories of Asgard and of her love even for poor Thor!
- Doctor Keith Kinkaid would be Janet's real love with whom she had a baby boy. Currently, in the Marvel Universe Janet is actively involved with the Avengers.

Asgardian beauty queen and warrior!
LADY SIF - A beautiful warrior goddess of Asgard and sister to the guardian of Asgard's rainbow bridge, (Heimdall) - Sif was Thor's girl even when they were quite young and because Loki was never a nice dude, he cut off Sif's beautiful golden hair one day hoping to ruin Thor's relationship with the beautiful Goddess.
- When Thor found out, our hero was really peeved.. ( to say the least..) and demanded Loki restore her golden hair.
- Afraid, Loki engaged the services of two dwarven craftsmen, Brokk and Entiri skilled in all things magic to restore Sif's golden hair.
- As it turns out, Loki would not pay the dwarfs what they asked and Sif ended up with black hair instead! Anyhows, that didn't stop Thor from falling in love with Lady Sif, in fact he loved her more for her long, black beautiful hair!
- When Thor went to earth he fell for Janet Foster which caused a rift between the two Asgardian lovers!
The royal father..............
ODINOdin is of course, Thor's father and once powerful ruler and protector of wondrous Asgard! A formidable warrior God whose strenght and powers are far beyond other Asgardians inclucing Thor, Odin once defeated a fire demon named Surtur with the help of his brothers Vili and Ve.
Besides being a brilliant tatician and strategist, Odin was a skilled master of disguises, often taking on diferent identities with colorful personalities to simply guide, and teach Thor whenever our hero errs along the way or simply whenever Thor just needs help. It's safe to say the great Odin had a playful nature and loved charades!
Odin and Gaea (an elder God..) sired Thor after they fell in love and soon adopted Loki after slaying the giant Laufey who was in fact Loki's father.
Odin perished after a massive battle with arch-foe Surtur the fire demon.
Queen and Mother's love.....
FRIGGALoving wife and noble Oueen of Asgard, Frigga raised our hero Thor even though she isn't his real mother.
After the events of Ragnorok, she is believed to have perished like many other Asgardians.
SENTINAL OF THE RAINBOW BRIDGE...........
HEIMDALLHeimdall is the beautiful warrior lady Sif's brother and has been the guardian of Asgard's rainbow bridge for eons, defending the fair city of Asgard and her people from harm. Indeed, Heimdall is also one of the most trusted servants of Odin and a loyal friend of the mighty Thor.
THE KING, THE BRAVE AND THE BOLD.....
According to the Norse legends, Balder is supposed to be the son of Odin, the Lord of Asgard- yet in the comic book series by Marvel, he is simply a just a close and loyal friend of the mighty Thor. Also known as "Balder the brave", he is a formidable warrior equal to that of Thor and like his namesake- knows no fear as his courage knows no boundaries! A one time King- He was once also elected by Thor as lord and ruler or Asgard.
THE ELDER GODDESS.....and MOTHER..
GAEA Gaea, an elder god and shown as the mother to all pantheon of gods known to humanity in the marvel comics universe- mated with Odin to conceive Thor under the guise of Jord.
THE AVENGER and HIS TEAM MATES!
Thor has been with the Avengers since their very first inception, when the group was formed to combat the menace of the evil Asgardian trickster god Loki. The early Avengers comprised of Thor, Iron Man, Captain America, the Hulk, Giant-Man and the Wasp. WARRIORS THREE.........
The Warriors Three are made up of Fandral, Hogun and Volstagg- warriors and great friends in fabled Asgard, home of the norse gods. ( Although these are original creations and characters that aren't found in the Norse mythology...)
The Warriors Three each have their unique talents although for quite a while, Volstagg was potrayed as the coward of this little gang, usually succeeding more with luck then skills on the battlefield or courage. Fandral has been described as the best swordsman in Asgard, Hogun a fierce warrior in the battlefield although Volstagg has since then gained more courage and you'd be hard pressed to find him anywhere but at the front lines of any given battle today.
p.s Volstagg is the big guy, ( also known as Volstagg the Enormous..) Hogun has the dark scary moustache while Fandrall is the blonde Errol Flynn look alike. ( Fandrall's character was said to have been inspired by the great Errol Flynn himself...)
THOR vs HULK!
Okay, it's Thor, the god of thunder versus the Incredible Hulk! Remember, the Hulk is essentially a rampaging monster that's as tough as nails and won't stop until he's down and out.

Plus, he gets stronger everytime the madder he gets, so there's really no cap on his awesome strenght.
Also he's taken on more heroes ( in a bunch to boot) than any other superhero : so you know there's no tougher joe than the incredible HULK when it comes to sheer brute strenght and power . ( they don't call him incredible for nuthin'....)
As for Thor, he's proven he can go toe to toe with the best and don't forget his secret "power"- a little thing called "warrior's madness "- a state into which he can get when a battle gets tough, or when he just didn't wake up on the right side of the bed! This " Warrior's madness" when invoked- increases his powers tenfold and makes Thor a really tough cookie. Plus- Thor's an immortal and a god.. so don't forget about his "godly" stamina too!
In Thor #385, The Hulk takes on Thor but Thor fights without the advantage of his hammer and loses!
THOR VS GHOST RIDER!
A hell spawned demon biker that shoots hellfire from his fingertips vs Thor? Who do you think will win in a fight to the finish? No interruptions, no Avengers buttin' in.... Just this two- Ghost Rider has demon strenght, ( although he's not as strong as Thor ) but it's plenty to do some real hurtin'.
These two tangled in the Avengers comic book ( Avengers #214) before, and I seem to remember Thor had some trouble handling this pesky little demon.
Thor had thrown his hammer at Ghost Rider, and all GR did was ride out Thor's hammer MJOLNIR's throw and followed it back to its master- (grabbing a hold of Mjolnir ) - and at the last moment using the hammer's momentum to land a powerful blow that knocked Thor off his feet!

The Ghost Rider is sneaky and is certainly not "chopped liver" but can he really beat Thor?
THE MANY FOES OF THOR! And where would a great hero be without his equally great BUT evil villian? The list of Thor's enemies are endless: so, we'll just take a look at some of the more popular ones who are of course fan favorites as well. Thor on! MIDGARD SERPENT....... A reaally big snake!
This really big serpent that often goes by the name the "World Serpent" ( probably because of his size..) is based on the creature of the same name from the Norse mythologies. The World Serpent also goes by another name- "Jormungand", and as with the Norse legends and in the comics, is destined to battle Thor during Ragnarok: a prophecy which foretells a battle of epic porpotions between these two enemies- and Thor's very own death soon after he destroys the serpent.
The World Serpent is first on this list because of the fact that he's destined to destroy Thor in the legends and because he's a really big dude. ( In the comics, Thor has already fought the Serpent: he kills it, but was badly injured himself. ( Mighty Thor # 380 vol. 1)
OH HELL! or HELA.....
The lady in question happens to be the Asgardian Goddess of Death and ruler of Hel and Niffleheim. In the Nordic legends, she's believed to be the child of Loki, ( Thor's adopted evil brother) and the giantess Angrboda.
As to how she became the Goddess of Death, it was Odin that bestowed unto her the rulership over the dead and made her mistress of the realms of Hel and Niffleheim.
Thor would often clash with Hela whenever she oversteps her boundaries and tries to expand her powers over to the land of living as well as to Valhalla.
ANCIENT AND IMMORTAL SURTUR!
Surtur is an ancient and powerful immortal- and a being who resides in an extradimensional plane of Asgard.Because Surtur is a much more ancient being and immortal than even Odin, he also outclasses Odin in the "power" category.
The greatest battle against Surtur happens when he forges a huge magical blade - Twilight and sends his legions of fire demons to Earth- in an attempt to draw away the armies of Asgard from its fair city, so that he could ravage and destroy it.
Thor, Loki and Odin however- defends Asgard and defeats the demon Surtur.
ULIK!
Ulik is a Rock Troll residing in yet another dimension of Asgard.Rock Trolls have a strong hatred for all Asgardians as they were once banished by Odin and forced to live underground and away from the surface world.
Unlike his fellow Rock Trolls, Ulik is endowed with great and vastly superior strenght and remains one of Thor's greatest enemy and sometimes ally.
THE WRECKER!
A former worker for a demolitions crew and a criminal who wears a costume armed with a signature crowbar, Dick Garthwaite recieved an enchantment from the Norn Queen Karnilla that granted him the strength to defeat Thor. The Wrecker possesses superhuman strength, stamina and durability and after the spell now carries an indestructible enchanted crowbar.
THE DESTROYER!
The Destroyer was simply an enchanted suit of armor created by Odin, and for the purpose of someday combating a deadly and dark menace seemingly from the stars.Loki has actually come close to killing Thor, after using the Destroyer several times.
The Destroyer stays lifeless until it is animated by the life-force of a living being and once it lives, the Destroyer is almost invincible!
ABSORBING MAN!
Carl "Crusher" Creel was just a criminal who recieves a unique ability to absorb the properties of any object he touches when he drinks a liquid pepared by evil Loki which was laced with magical ingredients. The Absorbing Man can become solid, or even in gas form, liquid, or even energy depending on the object he comes in contact with.
LOKI, MINE EVIL STEP BROTHER!
If there's ever an enemy Thor's had to battle over and over again and if there's such a thing as an ultimate arch-enemy for every hero, then Loki is Thor's.When Odin slew Laufey the frost giant, he discovered a small Asgardian child and this child's name was Loki.
Odin took in the boy, and raised him as his own son along with Thor. With every passing day that they grew up together, Loki would grow to resent and hate Thor because of Thor's great strenght and talents. Loki was jealous and envious of Thor because he was also popular with the other Asgardian folks.
Loki has been a bane to Thor since the begining, and will continue to dream up schemes to destroy our favorite god of thunder forever.

It's Thor vs Loki diorama! Click here to get on the waiting list quick and reserve this beautiful masterpiece before it's gone.....!
like they say ...NOTHING STOPS THE JUGGERNAUT!
The Juggernaut ( Cain Marko ) would often clash with the X-men because of his hatred for his step-brother Prof. Charles Xavier, who is also the founder of the team.Juggernaut gets his powers from the Crimson Gem of Cyttorak and has strenght that more than equals Thor.
THE DOCTOR OF DOOM IS IN!
Victor Von Doom is a brilliant scientist, accomplished sorcerer and once a classmate of the Fantastic Four's Reed Richards.Possibly the most complex and popular of all villains in the Marvel Universe, Doom has plagued and appeared in every single superhero's comic mag one time or another - often clashing with these heroes because of his own twisted visions of what a perfect world should be and his mad ambitions as sole " ruler of the world" and his well known insatible quest for power.
Dr. Doom is also the ruler of a small Balkan nation called Latveria.

Doctor Doom at your service!
FIRELORD!
Firelord (Pyreus Kril) was the herald of the world eater and devourer Galactus and without doubt one of the most powerful characters in the Marvel Universe. UTGARD-LOKI
This big fella is the monarch of all Frost Giants of Jotunheim, and the sworn enemies of the Asgardian gods! THOR VS SILVER SURFER!

Cosmic powers versus Godly warrior strenght ! As you know, the Surfer's no pushover and is easily the most powerful character in the Marvel universe. Norrin Radd ( Silver Surfer ) is the herald of Galactus and he gained his powers ( from Galactus ) after asking Galactus to spare his planet - and in return he would become Galactus' willing servant.
His cosmic powers allow him to do almost anything, like changing, restructuring or transforming the properties of any objects and transmuting them into another. ( amongst others..)
He's virtually indestructible, flies and navigates in space and also hyperspace, and has even time-traveled on several occasions! ( And this is just a small list of what this dude can do...! ) So does Thor stand a chance against this cosmic surfin' superdude if they had a fight to the finish? Even with all that cosmic power that the Sliver Surfer is weilding, don't count Thor out though! Remember he has Mjolnir, his enchanted hammer! It's a really powerful weapon that can defy time, send lightning crashing down and it's knocked the Hulk off his feet many times before....
In Silver Surfer #4 1968, when Thor fights the Surfer- the first round goes to the surfer after he encases Thor's hammer Mjolnir in a cosmic field. Thor however , is able to smash through the field and free Mjolnir.
But the fight was never concluded as the Surfer soon realises that he had been duped by Loki, the master of evil-
But if the fight had continued, who do you think would have won ?
Let's see... Thor's an Asgardian Warrior and master of the powerful and enchanted hammer Mjolnir, and as the God of Thunder, he commands the elements, has awesome strenght that equals the Hulk, invulnerability and all the skills of a true warrior born while- Superman's a kryptonian with awesome abilities that include strenght, invulnerability, super-breath, x-ray and heat vision among others. In a fight to the finish- There's never been a match between Superman and Thor yet- BUT WHO DO YOU THINK WOULD WIN IN A FIGHT TO THE END?
P.S- For all his powers and invulnerability, the man of steel can be hurt with magic- Thor's hammer is enchanted, and that means "big magic". Just some food for thought....

THOR #1-3 REBIRTH: REVIEWS
Okay, I'll come right out and say it. I'm not a big fan of today's comic books and how it's written in particular. Sure, there are some gems once in a while but I'm still partial to the way comics were during the 70s and 80s as I've always felt that today's comics try too hard to be a 32 page illustrated novel/ movie than what it really should be: comics that are fun to read.Maybe it's the typical flashbacks that's so ever-present in today's storytelling style, the overly dramatic prose or maybe it's just the odd over the head "sophistication" in the way and style a story is told today, I'm not sure.
What's lacking today is probably the energy and excitement that used to be so evident in a comic book of the past- with it's simple and straightforward way of conveying an exciting storyline and plot without the need for extremely unnecessary "colorful" prose. They used to be heaps of fun.
And not so dark. Sure, we've got to keep up with the times and sure, there are comics and characters that are "dark" and sophisticated: stories of swamp monsters and occultists that a little sophistication in storytelling coudn't hurt but do we need that level of sophistication for every single title in the market today?
To be fair, not all titles are written that way, but comics certainly have evolved and no matter the title, it seems to take itself too seriously. Real events that happen ( natural disasters, hurricanes, floods etc..) are often depicted into storylines as writers today seem obliged to create comics that have to be consistantly set in the "real world"- the one that we're presently living in. Certainly, social issues like hiv and these events have a place in comic books: and comic books have an important role to play in creating awareness and can be a potent tool for education on such important issues and events.
And who can ask for a better medium or channel? The funny books are read by people of all ages around the globe:
But hellooo, some of us actually want some time off from the dooms and glooms of the real world once in a while, to escape if only for a little while into another world: one that's exciting and filled with loads of fun- Is that too much to ask: or isn't that the initial concept of a comic book in the first place?
Taking a cue from hollywood directors that make superhero movies, comic book writers today seem more than happy to remove colorful costumes from characters just to make the stories more "realistic" (.. that's scary. Talk about art imitating life...) and thus, may be accepted by a far wider audience. Sorry to spoil the illusion, but people who read the funny books will read it, and others who don't will never: no matter how realistic and novel-like it may be.
And when that happens, well- the fun is no more. Which brings us to Thor #1-3 by the creative teams of misters J. Michael Straczynski (AMAZING SPIDER-MAN) and Olivier Coipel. (HOUSE OF M)
Thor number #1 reads like how a typical comic book is written today: It starts off with plenty of flashbacks and boring prose, and we're brought up to speed on what's happened after the events of Ragnarok through the thoughts of Thor and his alter-ego Dr. Donald Blake.
This issue shows Thor's resurrection and rebirth- after his apparent death and how Dr. Donald Blake convinces him to return to Midgard ( Earth ) and leave "limbo" to start out anew.
Nothing much or exciting happens in this issue- except for the fact that Thor's returned and like almost every single comic book title in the marketplace today, the pictures are pretty ( although Oliver's Thor is far from my liking) and the words although as pretty- are brief and too short. Splash pages go by without barely any dialogue or words and it's over before you know it.
In issue #2, Thor decides to rebuild Asgard. And it gets interesting. In a small and sleepy town somewhere in Oklahama, Thor rebuilds the great city: and it is a sight to see. In this issue, we're shown just how powerful the god of thunder is and why we should be afraid and at the same time be in awe of him.
Remember about finding rare gems in a sea of boring "sophisticated" comics today? Issue #3 renews my faith in comic books of today because of the fact is that it's still possible to actually enjoy reading a comic book today. And believe me, that's not an easy task today.
In fact- there are exciting classic 70s comic book elements that are present in this issue: Excitement, energy and action. Things really heat up when Iron Man drops by for a visit and threatens Thor.
The god of thunder is quick to vent out his anger and frustration at Iron Man for his betrayal with a lot more than with just mere words as Mjolnir slams into the golden armored avenger! Read it to find out more....
If the comic books of today have to be more "sophisticated" in order to cater to a much more "sophisticated" audience and generation of comic book readers today- and storylines have to be rooted in "realism" so much so that sometimes the characters are "mellowed" down ( just so they can appeal to a much wider audience and not just comic book geeks ) and it just has to read like a novel, at least let it be like Thor #3: lots of fun, energy and excitement. Let's hope we see more stuff like this.

It's everybody's favorite mutant vs Thor! Who do you think would win in a no holds, no barred fight to the very end?
Wolverine's endowed with unbreakable adamantium bones and razor sharp claws! Plus he has uncharted healing abilities and like his namesake, will never stop fighting until he's dead or his opponent is!
You decide who wins! ( Thor's got my vote though. he.. he) ...
THOR VS MAGNETO!

What if Thor had a fight to the finish with one of the most powerful mutants ever-, Magneto the Master of Magnetism?
Although Thor commands the elements and has uncanny strenght, Magneto is no push over either... the ability to create magnetic fields and electricity with destructive results makes Magneto a very dangerous opponent indeed!
Who would win this fight?

ANIMATED SUPER HEROES on DVD!
Some of the best ever super heroes animated series ever. When it comes to good animated series and movies, DC is undoubtly leading the way and outdoing Marvel thus far. ( Think Batman, Superman and Justice League the animated series. ) Feel free to Add to the list, or just Rank and vote your favorite to the top!
GREAT SUPER HERO MOVIES!
What makes a great superhero movie? Is there a particular super hero flick you really love? Or do you think no one has so far been able to hit the mark with super hero movies?
In my humble opinion, there have been more misses than hits- some of the best being Spider-Man 2, Frank Miller's 300 and Superman the movie- with the late great Chris Reeve leading the pack.
Some may disagree with me- All the X-men movies misses the mark- although the movies themselves are not half bad, they are at best "okay" adaptations of the hit Marvel comic book series.
Below is a list of the best top ten superhero flicks ever made... rank or add to the list and have some fun!

Fans have had different opinions about their favorite long haired Asgardian warrior, lord of Asgard and the Nordic God of Thunder on whether he should wear a beard.
