Mika was born 23 years ago in Beirut to an American father and Lebanese mother. His parents soon had to flee to France because of Lebanon's civil war. Mika grew up in Paris and London "hopping from country to country like a footloose hippy with my four brothers and sisters," as he puts it.Even as his infectious single Grace Kelly was climbing the UK pop charts based on online sales alone, Mika still lived in his mother's London home along with his sister who draws the cartoons that inspire his first album, Life in Cartoon Motion.
The album was released in February 2007 and debuted in the top spot on the Brit pop charts.
