Mike Quigley: Heir to Rahm Emanuel, Illinois 5th District Congressman

Mike Quigley was a Cook County Commissioner prior to winning the special election for the Illinois 5th Congressional District on April 7, 2009. He defeated Republican Rosanna Pulido and Green Party candidate Matt Reichel, winning 70 percent of the vote, and was sworn in at a special ceremony on April 21. He currently fills the congressional seat vacated by Rahm Emanuel, who resigned to serve as President Barack Obama's Chief of Staff.

    I just saw Mike Quigley at Jewel Osco this morning at the six-points location. He was greeting people and talking to them there. I wish I'd read this earlier. He sounds like a cool guy and I would've done more than said hello and smiled!
