I am a professional historian and writer, and yes I LOVE history. I also love sharing all the great history sites I keep finding on the web.   

As a rule historians are a pretty generous lot and most are more than happy to publish their research on the web. That's just great for all us history junkies.

Great War Forum
This is an example of the forum format at its very best. Focussing on the First World War, this site contains thousands of fascinating posts.

Military History at Wiki
Love it or hate you just can't ignore Wikipeadia. If nothing else this sites has a wealth of great links.

Institute of Historical Research
The Institute of Historical Research is a UK based academic organisation. They regularly publish informed articles about a wide range of historical subjects. This is a link to the military history stuff.

Military Battle and Campaign Maps
We all love a good map and this site is a great example of how they can be used for military history study.

This is a wikipedia page and contains a great over view. As usual it also has a great set of links.

US Army Center of Military History
The Center of Military History (CMH) is responsible for the appropriate use of history throughout the U.S. Army. The sites contain lots of useful resources.

This is simply a great military resource with loads of online documents.
