Military Style Backpack

With all the options available in the MOLLE load-carrying system, you can assemble your own custom backpack for any activity you want. Start with this MOLLE ACU 3 day pack with shoulder bag and add pouches where you want them to carry your all gear.

MOLLE (pronounced Molly) stands for Modular Lightweight Load-carrying Equipment, and it's the current system used by United States Army soldiers to carry their gear in the field. Even though MOLLE is a proprietary name, it's creeping into the language as a generic term to describe any brand's system that uses the Pocket Attachment Ladder System (PALS) method of modular attachment.

This MOLLE assault backpack in the Army's latest digital camouflage print has so many clips, pockets, and organizers you'll be able to put your fingers on any piece of gear in an instant. A top-loading main compartment with a separate hydration sleeve and two side pockets are just the beginning. The countoured shoulder straps and waist belt are removable, and the front pocket is detachable to be used as a shoulder bag with the clip-on strap. A padded back panel keeps you cool and comfortable on your trek, and if you get caught in the rain, every compartment has grommets for drainage.

This is an excellent base pack for building your own load-carrying system. Attach your favorite modular pouches to customize for backpacking, day hiking, survivalism, or whatever you like.

McStar MOLLE Vest

Build your own tactical paintball vest

McStar MOLLE VestMaybe you don't want an entire pack. If you're a paintballer, a MOLLE vest will hold your supplies without binding or flopping around. Or maybe you're an ultralight backpacker who wants to get creative and try a different way of carrying gear. You can start with a MOLLE vest and choose from a number of pouches in various sizes to attach wherever they are handiest for you.

This McStar tactical vest fits most sizes, with adjustable side straps, front buckles, and shoulder panels. Constructed mainly of mesh webbing, the vest is lightweight and ventilated to help you keep cool and comfortable. Large interior mesh pockets provide a good place to stash your maps. There is also a hydration sleeve to hold a water bladder. The front and back of the McStar MOLLE vest is virtually covered with web straps, giving you almost unlimited versatility in arranging your pouches. You get a good start on building your storage options with the included web belt and two utility pouches. Take your pick of three colors plus camo.

In the MOLLE system, modules attach via a strap that runs through horizontal rows of 1" webbing, spaced 1" apart and stitched to the base at 1-1/2" intervals.

I've been looking into the MOLLE system to use when geocaching in deeper terrain. Love how you can attach so much stuff to it (like GPS pouch, flashlight pouches, survival knife sheaths, etc). Nice post, will check some of these out.
