I have launched an eBay selling ventureĀ to sell off an immense and varied collection of military items, from trench shovels to gas masks to full uniforms in condition ranging from good to mint. WWI, WWII, and Vietnam are some of the wars represented, and there are items from America, Germany, and Japan that I know of. I'll know more about the scope of the collection later.

For the sake of organization, we will begin by auctioning off the more common American items from WWII, and from there move to other nations and wars.

I will be using this lens to preview and highlight items coming up for sale. In addition, I'll be adding stories about the history of the items and the wars they came from.

Current Information

Things have been going well with the first batch of books and now my eBay rating is at 19. I expect to have the uniform up for sale near the end of the month, and I hope to clear out the remaining books in lots. I'll be taking a short break from eBaying to get more shipping supplies and straighten out my accounts with my father-in-law who is supplying the collection, then I'll be ready to begin again with more collectibles.

My husband had helped me with some of the work over this past month and I'd like to thank him for that - I would never have gotten so much sold in such a short time without him. However, he doesn't have the experience with shipping that I have and that is something I advertised on the "About Me" page on eBay. I know that the Post Office and UPS can be brutal, and I can only be glad that books are fairly sturdy.

However, I am now taking over again and while this may mean that not as much is listed at a time, I can again personally guarantee the quality of the packing. Not that my husband was bad at packing, it's just that it's never been part of his job description before.

I'm going to see if I can get some of the smaller American items from WWII here so that I can list them soon - I will have to do this soon because my father-in-law is having both arms operated on just before Thanksgiving and I will need him to help me. On one hand he will get the operations over with at the same time, on the other - well, let's just say there are a lot of disadvantages to not being able to use your arms. If anyone reading this is going to have to have both arms operated on, please don't do them both the same day. I can already see that this is heading for disaster.
