Possibly the Coolest Spaceship in the Galaxy

Are you ready for some fascinating pictures and facts about the Millenium Falcon? Star Wars is packed with starships but Han Solo's ship has to be one of the coolest.

The Falcon is famous for its role in A New Hope, Empire Strikes Back and Return of the Jedi, but did you know that the story begins a long time before this? Even further back than the Episode 1 prequel? Read on to find out more.

There are also some amazing toys and collectors items out there for the Falcon. Some are even for kids! You'll find some crazy Lego kits here - some of which can be pretty hard to find. There's also an accurate Master Replica that would look perfect on your desk...

Finally, if you're a true, die-hard fan you may want to check out some other cool millenium falcon toys and collectibles.

Millenium Falcon

A long time ago, in a galaxy far, far away...

Episode 7

There was a story about a fight between the dark forces of the evil Empire and the brave rebellion. Star Wars now runs to 7 movies plus a bunch of cartoons and there's always been a huge emphasis on cool transport.

There are walkers, speeders, tanks, spiders, shuttles, and of course my favorite, the spaceships.

The Millenium Falcon is Han Solo's ship and is known for amazing speed and an uncanny ability to break down just when its really needed (usually while being pursued by a group of Imperial Tie Fighters).

The Falcon has featured in some of the key scenes of Episodes 4-6 and even made a surprise cameo appearance in the Episode 3 prequel. Who could forget the escape from Mos Eisley, chasing away Darth Vader during the siege on the Death Star, or flying between the teeth of the crater creature?

The best thing that could happen to the Millenium Falcon in the future? An appearance on the Clone Wars on Cartoon Network...

Rare Millenium Falcon LEGO

There are some wonderful Millenium Falcon Lego sets available these days and I just wish I had the space to build them all.

These are serious collector's kits with lots of components so you'll need to make sure the kids are old enough (unless you're buying one for yourself).

I checked one of these out at LegoLand the other day and the box weighs a ton!

Millenium Falcon Cameo on Revenge of the Sith

Did you spot it?

Star Wars - Episode III - Revenge of the Sith
Don't be surprised if you didn't spot it!

The Millenium Falcon is well known for its roles in Episodes 4, 5 and 6 but did you know it also appeared briefly in Revenge of the Sith. If you blinked then you probably missed it!

You probably think that Episode 3 is filled with pre-Galactic Empire starships such as Darth Maul's Sith Infiltrator or Trade Federation Cruisers but did you know that the Falcon was around for a long time before the saga began? Even before Episode 1?

The Falcon can be seen on Episode 3 sliding into the Republic landing platform on Coruscant. It's very tiny and difficult to spot. In fact, the colors look a little different too. The Falcon displays one of its earlier color schemes and is painted with a very nice blue pattern. It also looks a lot less beaten up (presumably as Han Solo hasn't won it yet!)

Did You Know About This Brand New Novel?

Millennium Falcon (Star Wars)

I only just finished with the previous Star Wars book, Invincible, which rounded off the Legacy of the Force series. So this has arrived just in time! James Luceno's new novel is based around the famous space cruiser (how great is that?)

In Millenium Falcon Han and Leia Solo go on an adventure to discover the true history behind the starship, accompanied by their granddaughter, Allana.
