Millennium- A hoped-for period of joy, serenity, prosperity, and justice.

What the hell is Millennial Business? Millennial Business is a business that is hatched from.......(drum roll).........a Millennial Idea. Ok, so what's a Millennial Idea? A Millennial Idea is an idea that has perhaps been inside your mind, whether you realize it or not, for a long time. I believe it is a person's destinate idea, or in other words an idea that is specific to that person's core being. Or in other, other words it is that once in a lifetime, jaw dropping, mind blowing, super killer idea that will totally and completely alter your life and the lives of many others.

In the next modules I will discuss Millennial Ideas and how they can spawn Millennial Businesses. Let me just say first that I am not a millionaire or some business guru. I have made some dicoveries in my life and in business that have greatly affected me in both areas. That is what I want to share with you. If you enjoy the information in this lense please give it a good rating.

Discovering Your Millennial Ideas

Each of us has at least one Millennial Idea. Some may have even more, but we all have at least one. A Millennial Idea is one that is specific to who you are and your purpose(s) in life. It is an idea that when discovered and realized will change your life forever.

I am 32 years old and only in the last couple of years have I discovered my own Millennial Ideas. However, I can look back on my life and see how I was led to these ideas. As Obi Wan Kenobi said to Luke Skywalker in Star Wars Episode IV, "You've just taken your first step into a larger world". When you discover your Millennial Ideas you too will step into a larger world.

Discovering your Millennial Ideas starts with noticing where you are at right now. I don't mean you should stand up and look around to see where you are geographically. I mean you have to figure where you are at in your life. Who are you? Where have you been? Most important, where are you going?

For me, I had come to a crossroads in my life where I needed to choose where I was going next. To do that I had to look at my life and where I was at at that point.

I can remember about two years ago starting to get the first "nudge". I was in the construction industry with my own business. I had started the business a couple years before that. I decided to start the business because I knew how to do it and I knew I could make money doing it. However, after the first year I had entered a new stress level that was quickly taking its toll on me. I continued in the business for another year or so when I decided I either needed to expand and grow the company or move on to something else.

I seriously was leaning toward expansion but there was something nagging me. I didn't pay attention to that nagging feeling and continued brainstorming the business expansion. Still something wasn't right. It wasn't until a scary discovery that I finally payed attention to the unsettling feelings I had been having.

In August 2004 I was sitting at the kitchen table at my mom's house when she came up and asked me about this spot on my neck. I had had this dark mole on my neck for about four years and never really payed attention to it until my mom said something about it. I decided to go see a dermatologist about it.

Sure enough, I had level 2 malignant melanoma, the deadly form of skin cancer. Within a week of the diagnosis I had 62 stiches in my neck after having the melanoma removed.

Discovering Your Millennial Ideas #2

Soon After my melanoma surgery I contemplated getting out of the construction industry. I didn't at that time have any other way of providing an income for my family so I couldn't just stop what I was doing.

Studies have always seemed to link skin cancers like melanoma to exposure to ultra-violet rays like we get from the sun. Being in the construction industry, I worked outside most of the time. That was a little unnerving to me. So I surely had a compelling reason to change my line of work. There was something else though tugging me in another direction. Something in my gut just told me it was time to change. Having had melanoma just helped speed up the process.

I began to start brainstorming other ventures to dive into. From that time until now I have probably come up with over 1000 different ideas. Only a few though were Millennial Ideas that were connected to my higher nature, or in other words, my greater self.

I call most of the other ideas as my business failures. I didn't actually begin developing any of the other ideas but I would quickly realize that they were not right for me. They were not Millennial Ideas leading to Millennial Businesses.

Discovering Your Millennial Ideas #3

It wasn't until I began to look inside myself that I started coming up with ideas that were more interconnected with my core being, my higher nature. I still wans't getting my Millennial Ideas yet but I was getting closer.

What really helped was when I started to think of how I could use my own unique personality and talents to somehow contribute something to the world. I was a little stumped at that point. What did I have to contribute to the world?
