MUES is also stepping up its commitment to the environment, by going GREEN! For the first time in competition history, submissions will be accepted online! You will still have to complete your submissions by the deadline which is October 1, 2009, but now it's much easier to meet (beat) the deadline.

2008-2009 MillerCoors Urban Entrepreneurs Series and Business Plan Competition Winners Announced

MILWAUKEE (June 11, 2009) - Honoring the spirit of young people aspiring to business ownership-especially amidst today's tumultuous economic climate, MillerCoors has announced the winners of its 2008-2009 Urban Entrepreneurs Series and Business Plan Competition. The top five recipients, selected from a highly competitive field of more than 120 applicants nationwide, will be awarded grants totaling $150,000 at a special dinner reception in Chicago this evening, June 11th. Successfully concluding its ninth year, the MillerCoors Urban Entrepreneurs Series and Business Plan Competition (MUES) continues to provide the needed resources to transition aspiring entrepreneurs to business owners, providing more than $1 million in business grants to date, to more than 100 urban professionals across the United States.

National Hispanic Business Organization Proud to Support Program Awarding Grants to Aspiring Business Owners

MILWAUKEE (November 12, 2008) -The United States Hispanic Chamber of Commerce (USHCC) has endorsed the MillerCoors Urban Entrepreneurs Series (MUES), an award-winning program that provides business grants to young, aspiring entrepreneurs. The USHCC represents the interests of the almost three million Hispanic-owned businesses, and is supporting the MUES national business plan competition which focuses on providing opportunities for up-and-coming urban business owners. Since its inception in 1999, the MUES program has been dedicated to assisting and advising aspiring entrepreneurs, allowing them to realize their dreams of owning and operating their own businesses, by providing expert analysis and numerous business grants.

"We are proud and honored to have the involvement of partners who are the pillars of our communities, like the United States Hispanic Chamber of Commerce," said Jose Ruano, multicultural relations director, MillerCoors. Celebrating its 10th Anniversary, the MillerCoors Urban Entrepreneurs Series (MUES) proudly continues its unwavering commitment to fostering urban economic empowerment throughout the country. Started in 1999 as a means to advance African-American entrepreneurship, the program has extended its reach, expanding to engage the Hispanic community. The MUES program continues to evolve and grow by incorporating Web 2.0, engaging a larger audience through webinars, MySpace and other social networking sites. Throughout its history the MUES program has awarded over $1 million in business grants, reaching more than 1,500 entrepreneurs through the competition and educational platform. To commemorate the 10th Anniversary, MUES has raised the stakes-this years grand prize winner will receive a business grant for $100,000, with grants of $25,000 awarded to four others.
