How to think like a millionaire

Ranked #27,670 in Education, #515,013 overall

How millionaires think and evaluate things.

How very wealthy people think. The answers may surprise you. If you want to become a millionaire, it starts in your mind.

Your Internal Dialogue

Train of thought

Internally within ourselves, there is that little voice that guides each and everyone one of us through our day. Ever stop to listen to what yours has to say? "I can't do that. That won't work. I'm so tired. I'm always broke. I'll always be poor. I feel so sorry for myself."

All negative thoughts. Negative thoughts is the root of your problems. You'll only attract negative things around you in the process.

Wealthy people all started from nothing. But their internal dialogue was a lot different from a normal person's. Thoughts run through their head like "I CAN do it. This WILL work or that didn't work, but let's try this instead." They always look at things in a positive perspective. If business isn't going good "I'm going through some challenges right now."

There is a way for everything to be put in a positive perspective. I'm sure you've heard of some. "The glass is half full. Don't cry over spilled milk, etc." Point is, if you want to make it happen for yourself, you've got to think that you can and truly believe. Which this thought process falls into the laws of attraction which millionaires and wealthy people are very aware of.

The Secret

A 20 minute introduction of "The Secret" which all wealthy people know of.

Loading

Millionaires lounging around.

Do they REALLY? Just lounge around in their yachts and drive nice cars?

Millionaires for a fact do not just lounge around in their yachts and drive their nice cars. Sure they do on the outside, but the struggles, rejection, negativity, to get that way paid off. They did it right, and reap the rewards after. I've seen first hand that they truly do work four times harder than the rest of us, but it paid off with a nice retirement and the dream life people literally only dream. Are you as a person prepared for that?

Take Responsibility

Sometimes life doesn't work to your advantage.

Sometimes things will happen that you have no direct control over. Life happens and that's just reality. However, how you handle it, and your thought process IS in your control. If life isn't going your way take responsibility for it and make a change, that is only up to the individual. Can't force the horse to drink the water, only guide them to the lake. Making excuses for the same mistakes without any change is the perfect excuse for you to keep on repeating the same thing and living through that mistake all over again.

Learn from your mistakes

Approach something in a different way if it didn't work the first time.

Millionaires learn from their mistakes and avoid everything to repeat the same mistake. Of the very meticulous things they take this to a whole new level. Pay attention to the small detail and if possible document it. Personally I document almost everything especially mistakes and analyze it later. I do not know when it will be used or applied but to have that at your disposal is very powerful. Unless you can remember EVERY single little thing then by all means skip out on that. Don't say I didn't warn you though.

Withold Gratification

Put back into your assets.

What all millionaires be it a philanthropist or miser's they all have one thing in common. They are willing to delay gratification. Meaning instead of putting new rims on their cars, they spend money on assets. A prime example is putting money back into their business. Personally, I purchase either more training, sales aids, or business tools that will only benefit my business. Assets in general can be applied to anything really that will further your wealth to help either expand, sell, or advertise. Just for the record, I'd love to blow off my money on a paintball trip but all that can wait till later.

Buying stuff

Is every purchase a reward?

Is every purchase a reward?
Before Rewarding yourself ask:

Do I need this?

Will I still want it next week?

What are my long-term financial goals? Do I want more?

With every purchase think to yourself what you're doing with that reward. Though sometimes the much needed psychological boost is evident. In a few days will it have the same impact?

Always weigh the short-term goals with the long-term ones. Putting a new car may make you feel good and may boost your self-esteem and make you appear wealthy. Where the disadvantages are the servicing and insurance are more expensive. It might lead to stress especially if you have kids or live in a "not-so-nice" neighborhood where you have to worry about the car being vandalized or even something small as your kids spilling ice cream in the back seat. Versus someone who thinks like a millionaire or a wealthy person would do something wise with his money such as putting it back into his home and remodeling (i.e. increasing value of your home, assets) the bathroom or kitchen. Maybe a simple upgrade to that. So if you do decide to sell, its market value will be higher than what you paid for. Just think about these things with each and every purchase.

Side Note: Poor people spend more money trying to make themselves appear richer than what they really are. Rich people spend money (assets) making themselves richer.

Negativity

Always something or someone trying to discourage you.

For better or worst, family and friends will always be protective of you. You may believe you understand something but for some reason they don't see it your way. They ridicule, mock, put down, and discourage you in your endeavors. Apple started with two guys working in a garage. Donald Trump himself claimed bankrupt seven times. Regardless of what others around them thought they stuck with what they did and eventually reached their success.

A harsh reality is, you're going to get you fair share of negativity. Just like all the job interviews you went through, not all called you back, but as soon as you did get a call back instantly you forgot about all the negativity and rejection.

People often say "Don't let others opinions effect you."

Only YOU as a person can change your reality. If you would let everyone's opinion, be it your family and friends affect your reality what kind of life would you really be living? A life that is altered by what other people think? If you really don't let other people's opinions effect you, why would you consider even listening to people like that? I myself as a personal testimony had a friend who I thought would be the MOST supportive of me turned out to be the exact opposite. It did shake me a little, but at the end of the day. Is she really paying my bills? Will she lend me a hand when I'm in a deep hole? Probably not.

Ask yourself, the people that give you all this stuff, are they really going to be the ones lending you a helping hand when you really need it? Are they going to go the extra mile for you? They should right? They want to be the most protective of you correct? Most likely not. In challenges like these, you'll find people who are your true friends and the family that really is supportive.

Personally, I look at all of this as a challenge, just another wall to get over, just another rope to climb. It all happens to everyone, how you handle it is up to you as an individual.

Budgeting

Keep a budget on what you spend.

Do you know where every single dollar goes? Do you keep a budget account either on a PC or book? Or are you one of those people who wait till the end of the month in shock of the statement. Contrary to popular belief, poor people do not only keep tabs and budget earnings. Every receipt, take 5 minutes of your day to record all of these things. You aren't do so because you are poor, but for the reason of taking control of your finances.

Help others get what they want.

Serving the many leads to greatness.

Simply put. Helping others receive what they want, will help you become rich and successful. The best way to become wealthy is helping others achieve what they want in the process of you doing so.
