The Incredible Power of Intent

By Dr. Margaret Paul @ http://www.innerbonding.com/

The Joy that you seek is the result of choosing the intent to learn rather than the intent to control. Lean how to consciously begin choosing the intent to learn about loving yourself.

Imagine two big spotlights. One is pointed upward, casting light far into the air. The other is pointed downward and buried into the earth - no light is cast at all.

This is like intent.

There are only two possible intentions in any given moment: the intent to learn about loving yourself and others, and the intent to protect against pain with some form of controlling behavior.

When you consciously choose the intent to learn, your light points upward, shining upon the truth that will guide you in your highest good. Your mind opens and becomes a receiver of the information you need to support yourself in manifesting your dreams. Consciously choosing the intent to learn is the most powerful thing we can do. When we consciously choose the intent to learn, we open ourselves to our Higher Self - the part of us that connects us with the information and creativity in the universe.

When we unconsciously choose the intent to control, we shut off access to truth. Our mind closes and becomes like a closed circuit TV - recycling the old information that has been programmed into our mind. We become stuck in our limited mind, operating from the false beliefs that we learned as we were growing up. We become stuck in the past, recreating old hurts.

The challenge here is that our unconscious automatic choice is to control. When we were growing up, we all had to learn many ways to control to survive the challenges of childhood. We learned ways of trying to have control over how people feel about us and treat us, such as anger, blame, judgment, righteousness, or compliance. We learned ways to protect against losing ourselves to another's control, such as resisting or withdrawing. We learned many addictive ways of avoiding feeling our pain, such using food, drugs, alcohol, TV, Internet, sex, work, sports, gambling, shopping, self-judgment, and so on - all to have control over not feeling our painful feelings.

Most people immediately, and unconsciously, choose the intent to control the moment they feel any anxiety. The problem is that the intent to control is self-abandonment, always causing even more fear, anxiety or depression. Instead of shining the light of love upon your distress in order to learn and heal, you shove the light into the ground, causing more darkness.

Choosing your intent is the essence of free will, and it determines what you feel and what you manifest. While you might have momentary pleasure when something good happens, the deep joy and wellbeing that we all seek, and the ability to manifest your dreams, is the result of your intent to learn about loving yourself and others.

The challenge in our lives is to REMEMBER that we are at choice - to remember to choose the intent to learn.

How can you remember to consciously choose the intent to learn? How can you remember, the moment you feel any fear, anxiety, or any stress, to open to learning about what you are thinking or doing that is creating this stress? What can you do to stop your automatic reactive controlling behavior?

First of all, you need to accept that this is a lifetime practice - not something that will occur quickly. We have all been practicing the intent to control for most of our lives, so it will take much practice to even remember that there is another choice.

The place to start is to practice noticing your feelings throughout a day. Perhaps wearing a rubber band that you can snap on your wrist will remind you to check inside to see how you are feeling. You cannot begin to learn about your thoughts and actions that are causing your feelings until you are aware of your painful feelings. You cannot stop your addictive anesthetics until you are WILLING to feel your feelings and take responsibility for them.

If you decide that you are willing to feel your feelings, that willingness will lead you to becoming more and more conscious of your feelings. This is the beginning of being able to consciously choose your intent to learn.

Reconnect To Spirit

Spiritual Growth Requires a Reconnection to Spirit

by: Richard Blackstone

When was the last time you consciously thought about the spirit or soul aspect of your beingness? Essential spirituality information requires you to seek this reconnection. Use your spiritual quest to advance your spiritual growth with a conscious and consistent association with your spirit.

As babies, we were born into this world in perfect balance in the mind, body, spirit being that we are. This is what I like to call the "love triangle." As we grow, develop and define the world, we become less and less influenced by our spirit. Why is that? Because, just like all things in life, what becomes real in our lives is what we put our attention on.

The world we live in at this particular point in our evolution has not put a lot of time and attention on developing our spirit. We are constantly being conditioned to believe that our beingness is to be mostly concerned with our body and our mind.

Some people might say that is not true. They would say, "Look at all the religions and how we are seeking the word of God through our religious teachings." There is much truth to this argument, but what is being promulgated and what our attention is being put on is the religion itself and not on our innate "spirit."

The religion becomes the message and not the day-to-day influence of spirit without judgment or labels attached to it by each and every religion, according to its particular doctrine.

So our physical senses continually bring us a message that we identify ourselves as mostly a body and a mind. We put our attention on this never-ending conditioning and become less and less influenced by the spirit side of our beingness.

The love triangle adjusts accordingly and instead of the perfectly balanced mind, body, spirit being that we were when we entered this physical world we begin to view ourselves from a whole different perspective.

We are still a three-part being and we will always be a three-part being. It is just that the "spirit" part of our beingness has not received any attention and is therefore less influential in the decisions and choices we make in our lives.

The result of this neglect of our spirit is the startling revelation of how the love, that is the core of our beingness, also atrophies and is less influential when we lose our spiritual influence.

Wow! This is worth a big Ah-haaaaa. Our love quotient is way down when we lose the influence of our spirit. Somehow, that statement makes total logical sense. Not just physical sense but more importantly nonphysical sense.

The sense that comes from the more subtle aspects of our beingness. The sense that comes to us from the triune relationships in our lives. From the superconscious, conscious and subconscious. From the physical, the nonphysical, and the metaphysical. From the Father, Son and the Holy Ghost. From the mind, body and spirit.

This is the nature of our beingness in the world we live in today. This is "what is so." It is neither right nor wrong. It is merely "what is so."

The question we need to ask ourselves is this: "Does this serve me?"

Each of you must go within yourselves and answer that question. Your answer will determine who you choose to be, and from that beingness you will do the things it takes to manifest the beingness that you choose.

Make a conscious choice in this very present moment of now to "be" more spiritual. All it requires is to consciously allow your spirit to be an active participant in your decision making process. Make that choice today and reap the benefits of that choice for the rest of your life.

The Energy and Power of Emotions

By: Luann M. Bulmer

We all have our hidden expectations...our own view of the world and how it should be according to our perceptions and beliefs. The 60,000 thoughts that run through our minds each day, are forming what we want to be happening at that moment, what we would like to happen in our future, and either praising events or yearning for how we wish it had played out in the past. We dwell on things that don't go according to our plan. We all have regrets. We are in constant judgment of everything and everybody that is evolving around us, much of which is being done subconsciously. However, many of us blame all of our misgivings and unhappiness on those outside sources.

The "if only(s)". If only...they had/hadn't said this or done that, or if only...this had or hadn't happened. If only...all the pieces of the puzzle could all fit neatly together to form the beautiful picture I have created in my mind, my life would be perfect and I could find happiness. If only...

When people, including ourselves, don't behave or perform the way we would like, or events don't happen according to our vision, the ugly emotions start to emerge. We feel fear and frustration, anger and depression, resentment and jealousy...and these emotions create the stress and anxiety that are destroying our minds and body. Our vibration goes down, and we attract like a magnet more of the things we don't want in our lives, which only creates an endless cycle. Like attracts and gravitates toward like.

Many of us turn to chemicals as a quick fix to repair all of the damage these emotions are creating within us, or to escape from them momentarily. Nowhere in the creation of the Universe has there ever been a need for the chemical drugs that further destroy our minds and bodies. The Universe was created so that everything is provided for us, either on this earth or within ourselves.

Everything in the Universe is created by energy all vibrating at different frequencies. Our cells are made up of energy. Even our thoughts are made of energy. When there are people around us that are happy, we can feel that positive energy! Likewise, when someone walks in that is depressed or angry, we can feel that also. We don't have to look at their faces, and they don't have to say a word...we can feel the energy and vibration coming from them. We are all connected.

When we have negative or positive thoughts we are not only producing negative/positive energy that can be felt by the people around us. We are even affecting the energy of the objects we come in contact with, by our energy. But more importantly, we are also affecting the cells and DNA that create us. When we are in Love, we feel alive! We feel it in every cell! We Glow! And when we are unhappy our immune system goes down and we become ill. Dis-ease. Now, what do you believe your thoughts are doing to your cell production?

We have the power within us to change any emotion we are experiencing at any given moment. For example...what happens to the way you feel when you think of something that has happened that you are unhappy with in some way? You begin to feel the same way that you did when it happened originally. When you have a happy memory, you begin to smile or laugh. Give it a try.

No situation or person has the power to make us happy, depressed, angry...without our consent. The choice is ours...only we have that power. There is no one or no situation that is to blame! It all lies within ourselves and in our beliefs and perceptions, and how we choose to feel. However, many times our emotions are serving a belief that we hold within us, without consciously knowing what that belief is. Our subconscious, however, does know and holds the answers to that question. If we are feeling depressed, for example, it is serving a belief. Subconsciously we are wanting something that we believe that we need, or our subconscious mind believes it is protecting us from something. Again, we may not consciously know what that is, or consciously understand why we are feeling or behaving the way we are.

The subconscious mind does not work on logic. That is what our conscious mind is for. Our subconscious mind is in charge of our survival instinct, and our ability to react without thinking. It is in charge of taking care of everything we do unconsciously. It is what keeps us breathing, our cells reproducing. It stores all of our beliefs, values, habits and memories, many of which were formed when we were children and no longer serve us well. They were formed when we were too young and inexperienced to make sound beliefs and judgments, and many of them were taught to us by our teachers and parents based on their beliefs and perceptions.

Two powerful ways you can access the unconscious mind and find those beliefs and/or change them is through hypnosis and NLP (Neuro Linguistic Programming). You can change how you react and the emotions your subconscious chooses to use on any given situation.

To begin attracting the things we do want in life, we have to change our vibrational energy and begin to feel Love, acceptance, forgiveness, and gratitude. We have to concentrate on what we do want, instead of what we don't want, and it all starts with changing our mind!
