There comes a point when your lonely little world has a horde of creepers and skeletons and just YOU. Time to make some friends and start sharing your mining/building skills with the whole world.

Now it's time to get serious, don't want to be a digging loner for too much longer.

1. Start your own Minecraft home server 1.2.5 (a little daunting, but with some messing around you'll get there)
2. Find an established Minecraft community
3. Rent a Shared Minecraft 1.2.5 server slot for you and your mining posse
4. Rent a Dedicated Minecraft server 1.2.5 setup your own community site (Extreme, but doable)

We currently host Minecraft Classic servers and Minecraft Survival (BEta SMP).
Our SMP servers can be configured to let java use between 1GB of ram to 16GB of ram(higher values are available just contact us for special pricing due to Economies of scale). Notch recommends 1GB at least for SMP servers, though it all depends on mods used, world, and player location on how many players can be on the server before stutter happens.
We generally see 24+ players per GB with bukkit and plugins. If running a stock server, you can see over 26 players per GB.

How many slots can i host on a minecraft server with x.x GB

Looking around all the hosts they all give different answers, because it depends on many factors such as.

- How large your world is
- How spread out the players are
- RAM (seems to be the biggest thing)
- Processor Speed
- Disk Access (are they using SATA or SSD)
- Connectivity to the Internet
- How Many Plugins you are using
- Is it a Dedicated server or VPS

See what I mean there's so many variables. Then again you're never going to know until you give it a try! See how many friends it takes to make you server laggy, you may be surprised. I'm predicting over time as the Minecraft server is refined and optimized it will use less and less ram.

Yes it seems so, brohoster do this with their setup, then again they've a powerful server with a good configuration. They can fit 1 - 4 slots

1 - 4 Slots depending on you host with.
