Mineral Makeup and Mineral Makeup Reviews

Mineral Makeup is the perfect foundation for those who want a foundation with good coverage without the mask like feel of traditional foundation.

The natural ingredients in mineral foundation also make it less likely that users will experience breakouts or skin irritation from mineral makeup.

Of course everyone is different, and some people prefer one brand over another, so you may have to shop around and test different products, to find the foundation that is perfect for you.

Monet Mineral Review

I've been using Monet Minerals for about a month, and so far I've been very pleased.

I'm using the foundation in Olivia, and the concealor in Picasso, Naked Veil, Chocolate Plum Eyeshadow, Dark Dusty Rose Blush (pearlescent), Sunset Blush (matte), Mocha Multi-purpose powder, and Almost Ruby, Velvet Brown, and Smoke on the Water Monet Versatile Powders.

The colors apply evenly, and last, and I haven't had any trouble with breakouts or skin irrition.

The size of the powder is a little larger than I'm used to, but it didn't affect the application any.

I was really impressed with the colors of the Dark Dusty Rose Blush, and the Almost Ruby Monet Versatile Powders, both of which I used as blush. They are so beautiful, but they are also very pigmented! I had to be very careful not to apply too much, so I wouldn't look like a clown, but it was worth it.

The other colors I used were pretty, but very understated, so if you're looking for a natural look, or one that isn't over the top, these colors are perfect.

Cinderella Dumped Her Fella Review

An About Face Cosmetics Limited Edition Collection

...The Recoil and Steam Burn blushes are both barbie pink in the baggies - and they are very similar in color, so I think I'm going to have to play with them a little to see how they work on me. I did use Steam Burn this morning, and I had to wipe a little off to tone it down, but that's to be expected because I used more than I should have. Other than that it was really pretty, although it was very pink!

I haven't had much time to play with the shadows, although I did wear some of them today.

I used Be Who You Are (This shade begins with a base of sheer pearl taupe but then morphs into sheer icy pink and gold with flashed of golden twinkle) all over the lid, You Cheat I Win (Multiple layers of stormy grey coupled with iridescent berry and finished off with crystal twinkle) in the inner corner, Keys to The Castle (Delicious combination of midnight navy and iridescent aquatic turquoise finished with twinkling aqua iridescent light) on the outer V and crease, and Three Evil Chicks (Deepest blackened charcoal with turquoise, lavender and crystal twinkle) wet as a liner.

The shadows applied smoothly and sheerly, and were very pretty. Since I applied most of them dry they weren't overly shimmery, although I could have added more pigment, or foiled them if I was looking for sparkles...

Alice Cosmetics Review

I've been a wearing Alice Cosmetics Foundation, oil control base, and blush for a little over three weeks now, and they work great.

I've been wearing their eyeshadow and eyeliner for most of that time too, but since I only got two shadows and one liner I ran out of different looks fast and since I like variety I had to sneak a few other shadows in the mix.

Bellissima Trucco Minerale Review

I received several products Bellisima Trucoo Minerale to review about two weeks ago, and I've really put them through the ringer.

I've spent several days gardening outside in hot weather, and I was caught in a rainstorm.

Through it all these minerals have held up!

About Face Cosmetics Colors for a Cause Review

As I mentioned before, I bought two About Face Cosmetics Eyeshadows, and three samples when About Face was doing Colors for A Cause, which benefitted a boy with cystic fibrosis.

I've tried About Face cosmetics back when they were Twisted Fayte, and they single handedly sparked my interest in mineral makeup.

When I read that 100% of the profits were going to the family, I was already planning to buy the duo, even though I couldn't see the actual colors of the shadows on my computer screen when I ordered.

Rareminerals Blemish Therapy Review

from Mystical Beauty's Musings

I think I'm giving up on the RareMinerals Blemish Therapy.

As much as I want to like it, it isn't doing anything for me, and I can't handle the smell.

I stopped wearing the Blemish Therapy in the morning because I was self conscious about the smell. I know my husband could smell it, and I didn't want anyone else to smell me, and wonder why I smelled like sulfur.

Since I have large pores are around my nose, I put the blemish therapy around my nose at least an hour before I go to bed, and I still wake up in the middle of the night with the sulfury smell of the blemish therapy in my nose.

I'm also not noticing the promised reduction in blackheads, smaller pores, or fewer breakouts.

I love it! I've been using Everyday Minerals for a while and love it!

claire says:

I have had problem skin for years and i have found that it had cleared up so much. Although one problem i have with mineral makeup is that i work in a hot workplace and find half way through the day my makeup had settles on my face where i have been sweating and looks bad!

KATE says:

mineral makeup has saved my life, honestly i have the worst skin i have ever seen in the world. My body is super tan but my face absolutely does not tan at all, i have huge pores, a ruddy uneven discolored splotches all over my face and i would not dare go out of the house without makeup. I love bare minerals and rare minerals. Thank you

Hate it

Claudia says:

I hate most brands because they all contain bismuth oxychloride which makes my skin feel hot and itchy..Bare minerals and Sheer cover BOTH contain this ingredient :(

Lumiere Cosmetics Review

from Mystical Beauty's Musings

I've been wearing Lumiere Mineral Cosmetics since Saturday, and I'm really impressed with them.

I've used the Veena Velvet in Light Cool, with and without the Sand Silk Powder, and I honestly like it both ways! The Veena Velvet is not as shiny as my usual Bare Escentuals (BE) mineral powder, and it also has a more matte, less shiny finish than the BE does. I do apply my minerals with a flocked sponge if you're trying to recreate the same effect I get.

It's cold and windy here in MN, so I can't tell you how this will react in the warm weather, but I did wear the foundation, blush and eyeshadow while I was walking on the treadmill, and I didn't notice any problems with them when I was sweating.

Ferro Cosmetics Mineral Makeup Review

from Mystical Beauty's Musings

I've been wearing Ferro Cosmetics mineral makeup for about two weeks now.

The cosmetics provided great coverage, although the radiance foundation was a tad too dark for me when I applied it with a flocked sponge.

However, it was the perfect color when I applied it with a kabuki brush.

Although most mineral makeup companies say to use a brush to apply mineral foundation, I use a flocked sponge so I can get more coverage, and I know a lot of other MMU lovers do as well.

I really liked the fact that the Ferro Cosmetics jars came with instructions printed on the lid that said "Shake minerals here, swirl brush & tap of excess. Sweep on for fabulous coverage." Although most beauty junkies know how to use mineral makeup, a lot of women don't - so it's nice to have the steps explained somewhere where you can't forget them.

Bare Escentuals i.d. bareMinerals Makeover

I loved i.d. bareMinerals when I first tried them, but after about a year and a half, it started making my oily skin look flaky around my nose, so I started trying out all of the wonderful traditional foundations, so I could review them for you!

For whatever reason, when I went to Minnesota with DH last January, I took the bareMinerals with me.

I noticed that my foundation wasn't working at all in the cold weather, so I tried the bareMinerals ... and it worked!

I have since early childhood been a makeup addict but since discovering mineral makeup my obsession has increased and no one thought it possible! With so many online companies offering samples it has enabled me to try and try again so many companies whose quality of products seem to surpass the major players that are readily available locally such as BE and MAC. My favorites have changed over the years as new companies with better products and service have surfaced. My favorites now are for foundations, eye shadows, and blushes EGMINERALS. I love Silk Natural's lip glosses. I love Aromaleigh's eye shadows and JLynne's glosses are great too!
