Screen Size-What to Look For

With screens for 7.8 to 12.1 inches Mini Laptops come in a few different sizes. So what should you consider went looking for one when it comes to screen size.
The first thing is that with some of the smaller ones you would not be able to view a whole web site. You will have to scroll the screen to see the rest of the site. This can be a pain if you plan on checking a few sites while surfing.
The second thing to consider is how much will you be using your Mini Laptop, staring at a small screen for hours can take it's toll on your eyes, so a larger screen might be best. Around 10 inches they start getting easier on the eyes.
The quality is the third thing you should consider, if the picture quality is important to you then as a general rule the bigger the screen the better the quality.

Is The 12 inch Screen For You

If the Mini laptops are just not enough for you they are starting to come out with 12 inch screen models that are a great compromise between the mini's and the larger laptops. They still do not have all the components of the larger but have more storage and can run more of the software you are was too.

The price of course is also in between and some are priced at the same price or higher then the regular laptops.

If your looking for something in between these are worth a look.
Though you can get better deals online it is a good idea to go to a store and look at all the options. You will get a better idea of what is going to work best for you.

And if your luck you can find a sales person that can give you alot of information with out trying to up sell you to the latest and greatest.

Gateway® LT3103u

I Bought This One It Rocks!!!!!!!!!

I went to Best Buy yesterday and was looking at the Mini Laptops. They are adorable that's for sure.
With the help of one of the Nicest sales associates I went through the 7 that they had in stock. I eliminated the ones with a screen smaller then 10 inches right away, just personal preference.

There were some that were about $115.00 less then the gateway but they also came with less. The Gateway has double of everything that the rest did including the 2 that were the same price and the Gateway came with Windows Vista Basic.

I paid $399.00 which is the manufacturer recommended price.

I have not been able to find this mini anywhere so far (even on line except one site that had one refurbished one) except at best buy and they only have the black one at the stores if you want the red one you will have to buy it on line.

The keys are great they are huge for a Mini.

It also has Microsoft Office 60day free trial load on it. I tried this just long enough to see how it ran. It did a pretty good job. was a little slower with some bigger files I tried but all in all did pretty good job and ran well. I did uninstall Office because it comes with Works and that is more than adequate for the purposes I use the mini for.
