No one would have ever believed I would one day have a miniature shoe collection! I would not have believed it myself, but once I got started...I just couldn't stop.

A business purchase turned into a collection
I fell in love with my first Miniature shoe
I sell on ebay. I used to have a store on ebay but now just sell occasionally. I saw some gorgeous miniature shoes one time and I just HAD to add them to my store. I contacted the merchant, who also sells wholesale, and bought some of these treasures. When I opened that box, the LAST thing I wanted to do was sell them! Mind you, I am not generally a "shoe" person. I do not have a shoe fetish. I simply fell in love with these shoes.I also am a fan of Swarovski crystals, and these mini shoes are loaded with them. All of the pictures in this lens (except those listed in the ebay store) are in my collection.
Although the Pewter allow with the crystals is my favorite, there are different kinds of miniature shoes. I started with one and went on to others. You can find ceramic, pewter, glass, and many other materials. Miniature shoes are not expensive, generally. I look at my collection and cannot believe how little I really spent for such enjoyment. Everyone who sees them admires them. I even have a 14 year old daughter who has confiscated more than one of them!

Build it as you are able.Browse before you buy. As I said, there are many kinds of miniature shoes. Do you want to collect just one type, or many? Search the internet to find examples of all kinds. Visit antique stores, which are often treasure troves for miniature shoes! Same with second hand stores. "One man's junk is another man's treasure!"
Most businesses who sell miniature shoes keep a stock of "popular supply" plus add new supply often. Beware that your collection may lead to another collection. I started with the shoes, then started adding the trinket boxes.
Remember you do not have to keep to one material for your collection. My collection is completely Merx products, but I have seen some wonderful ceramic shoes I may want to add. Collections should be personal and expressive. Create the kind of collection you want.

One famous "label" of miniature shoe is "Just the right shoe" and they have quite an extensive collection. Jo Ann Bedient is an artist who makes clay shoes that are fabulous. You have to see these, even if you just want to "window shop" (that's a joke)jbedient.com
