Mason Jennings
"Making music is a way of experiencing something that I can't put a name to. When I write music I am always searching for something. As Thomas Wolfe said, I am trying to remember a forgotten language."
Atmosphere
After Atmosphere's third album went indie triple platinum, these guys got offers from every major label in the business, but chose to remain independent. Always true to the roots of Hip Hop Atmosphere show just how to make it in this world dominated by major labels and still release the art as they envision it.

Winner of two Minnesota Music Awards for Album and Song of the Year 2006.
American Rust
American Rust is unforgiving, radical, and ethereal, they never let you forget what the heart of rock really is. They are currently working on their second album "The Litany Project." And will be playing local venues throughout the year with promotional help from Alessio Pillia of Dark Angel Promotion in Italy. Look for big things from these guys.
Greg Michaels
If county music is your thing, then Greg Michaels is your man. His music journey began with a guitar, piano, and a pen but after a few years of hard work and focus, his talents landed him some great opportunities and the start of an exciting career, including opening for Nashville recording artist Jamey Johnson.

John Snell the Tenth

"I really dig what he came out with this time...It definitely takes you on a journey...a journey you probably wouldn't think to go on by yourself...but you'll feel safe holding John's hand ...I highly recommend taking it."

Mason Jennings

"Bass drums, chains and minor-key melody give the rootsy 'Some Say I'm Not' the somber, soulful quality of a field holler. And the heartbreaking 'Which Way Your Heart Will Go' sounds like a less flamboyant Cat Stevens track all stoic piano chords and fingerpicked guitar."

The Power of Musical Expression

Music for the head, heart, and body

Music has a very powerful effect on people, but each of us listen to music in a different way. Some of us take a cerebral approach and love the structure and form, others listen to music from their hearts and have a very emotional response to the lyrics, and still others have a physical response a whole body stimulation. How does music effect you?

Great lens on music from my old home. Minneapolis has a great music scene and this lens will help get the word out. My only suggestion is that you handpick the Amazon listings for more music variety and support up-and-coming bands. When I visited this page all records were classical.
