Why listen to Minnesota indie?

Minnesota has long been known for its music in that, well, Prince came out of there. But the Land of 10,000 Lakes has more to offer than the artist who couldn't figure out what to call himself. Alternatively (pun intended), some of the best music you can find in the Twin Cities is in the local music scene. Today, I'll introduce you to some great Minnesotan Indie bands that you should check out!

I have been listening to The Current radio for years. It is by far my favorite station. Don't live in Minnesota? No problem! You can listen online anytime at their website, which you can access by clicking on the picture beside this text.

Live on The Current

One of the great benefits of the Current is that it constantly has bands coming in and recording live music in their studio. Below is a video of the Hold Steady performing "Sequestered In Memphis" live on The Current. The Hold Steady is a great example of an MN indie band that went national. No doubt you've heard this catchy tune.
