Scrapbook Retreats in Minnesota

Scrapbooking is quickly becoming a very popular hobby. And scrapbook retreats take that hobby to the next level. An entire weekend is often set aside to work on scrapbooks, or other crafts.

Ask most people who attend retreats and you will find out that scrapbook retreats are great because you can devote a lot of time into completing a project. Scrapbook retreats in Minnesota offer a variety of options. From the woods of the north, to the connivence of a city setting to the bluffs of the south, you will find a scrapbook house in Minnesota sure to fit your needs.

We will highlight scrapbook retreats throughout the state, give you a great beginning list of things to bring with you and offer tips on hosting a retreat weekend.

Hosting A Retreat

How to be the Hostess with the Mostess

I love going to scrapbook retreats where the hostess has a small goody bag waiting for everyone when they arrive to their work station. Again, not completely necessary, but something nice to get the weekend off to a great start. You could put any number of little things into a bag, below is a list to get you thinking about what you might want to include.

1. Post It notes
2. Pencil
3. Lip Balm
4. Hand lotion
5. Chocolate

Paper, Paper, Paper

You need something to glue your pictures on, or to use to embellish your pages. There are so many choices, patterned paper or plain. Again, make sure the paper you are using is made for scrapbooking and is archival quality.

It's Done!

One thing that I love to bring with me on a scrapbook retreat are page protectors. When I get done with a layout, I put them directly into scrapbook page protectors that way they are safe, I can flip through them to see my progress and it makes my layouts look even better. Pick some up and bring them with, you'll be glad that you did!

Is sleeps up to 16 people, out in the country, everyone scraps in the same room, used to be an old cheese factory...made into a home...now a retreat. Check it out at www.miltonhouseretreat.com.

Add this to metro section .We opened Thorwood Srapbook Inn www.thorwoodcondos.com January 1st and are having a ball. We are in Hastings just four blocks from A Scrappin Time downtown. We are set up for 8 and have great amenities -- five working fireplaces, private elevator, gourmet kitchen, grocery and meal delivery, patio with gas grill and a great workshop with individual tables and lighting and the best chairs. As one guest said --"this is no ordinary scrapbook retreat." Come as guests to our sister inn Classic Rosewood for breakfast.

The Duluth Scrapbook Retreat is a TERRIBLE place to go for scrapbooking. Honestly, they should be reported to the BBB for their false advertising. There are MANY very steep stairs to haul your things up to get into the house. There are no ergonomic chairs, no lighting, YOU have to haul the tables up from the basement, there is no room for scrapbooking, and the list goes on. It is a wonderful vacation home, but absolutely NOT appropriate for scrapbooking.

Not to be confused wth the "Duluth Craft Retreat" which IS specifically designed to be a scrapping/quilting retreat home. Very few stairs, comfy chairs, task as well as overhead lighting & a specific "craft" room. Just don't want people to be confused as to which one you're referring to.

Beautiful, well-done lens on scrapbooking retreats in Minnesota! I see that you have a much fuller list in MN than on my retreats all over the country lens, so I'm adding yours to my MN listing. Woo-hoo . . . keep up the good work! happy scrappin' . . .

I haven't scrapbooked for a couple of years but have to make one for my daughter's senior year this year. I always really enjoyed it!

A Scrapebook retreat sounds like a lot of fun. Just hearing about it reminds me of the old quilting bees. What fun!
