Minter Gardens - A World Class Show Garden and Wedding Site

Brian and Faye Minter first saw the site which was to become Minter Gardens on Christmas Day, 1977. The topography was so unique and the setting against 7,000 foot Mt. Cheam so picturesque, instantly one of those once-in-a-lifetime dreams was born: to create one of the most beautiful gardens in the world! Their dream became reality when Minter Gardens opened in May of 1980.

The gardens are designed as an international visitor's attraction. Located on 32 acres. Minter Gardens features 11 themed gardens, floral topiary sculptures and designs, waterfalls and aviaries.



The kaleidoscope of colours change daily in a never ending parade as the seasons unfold.

Spring brings with it a riot of colour from the thousands of tulips, daffodils, hyacinths, lilies and more. Over a thousand rhododendrons add to the display.

Summer is greeted with thousands of dazzling annuals carefully arranged into breathtaking displays of colour. Huge tapestries of annuals depict a giant peacock and a Canadian flag. As well, the rose garden overflows with a rainbow of fragrant roses.

Autumn brings with it the last hurrah of the beautiful perennials and the vibrant hues of the numerous trees and shrubs throughout the garden.



Minter Gardens is host to a great series of entertainment and special events throughout the year. General and horticultural guided tours are available by appointment. Dining facilities include a cafe, dining and banquet room, plant and gift shop.

Weddings can be booked in the wedding pavilion on the spectacular grounds and receptions can be held in the conservatory banquet room. And wedding photos are sure to be spectacular no matter where in the gardens you choose!



Minter Gardens is open seasonally from March to mid-October, subject to weather and climate conditions. For the 2011 season, they welcome you to come visit between March 28 and October 11.

Every winter just before Christmas, Brian Minter and his staff have put on the Enchanted Gardens Christmas Light Show at the Country Garden World Garden Centre in Chilliwack, BC where they transformed a dull grey winter into a dazzling riot of colours.

This year they have brought the colours indoors.

"Join us for new traditions! Our Christmas light display will be inside the garden center this year and complimentary to all visitors. We will have thousands of lights and many of our themed pieces set up under cover so that they can be enjoyed up close where folks can be warm and dry."
