Miracle Stories and The Finger of God

There are books, DVDs and shared youtube videos of miracles happening on 911 surrounding the terrorist attacks. There is no short supply if you want to read about a miracle. God's hand was working throughout this difficult tragedy.

Workers discovered a cavernous type hole in the debris. Four steel girder crosses laid upright in the middle of Building 6. The cavern became a place of worship for weary rescue workers. CBN full story.

Zana gets out of prison and onto a bus. A man on there tells him he was a Christian and he believed Jesus was the son of God in a spiritual way and that God is Holy. Zana asked him who he was going to see, the man replied a friend that needed him, his name was Zana. Zana thought he meant someone else with that name. The man slipped a bible into Zana's bag, because it was dangerous if anyone saw it. Once he got off the bus, he waited for the man to get off, but the bus was empty. He then realized the purpose of this man was to meet him, Zana and to explain those things to him and give him a bible. Story found Here

After the noise quieted down and the dust settled, the people who were frozen in shock began to look around. They were completely astonished when they realized that not even one of the 200 people were injured. The entire building had collapsed around them, even three walls of the shelter were gone and only the eastern wall remained standing [the shelter was also used as a shul (synagogue) so that even the racks which held siddurim (prayer books) and chumashim (the first five books of the Bible) were not damaged].
When the Prime Minister and the Mayor toured the site, the Prime Minister asked if there were people here? "Definitely, " said the Mayor, "there were 200 people and they were all saved by a miracle!

SCUD 33

The missile landed in the middle of a residential street. The house on one side of the street crumbled entirely, but its elderly occupant was pulled from the debris unscathed. The house on the opposite side of the street was also destroyed completely , but no-one was home at the time of the blast.

Another man was trapped beneath the rubble of his 4-room ranch house. As rescue crews sifted through the ruins of his home, they heard him pleading for help. only his head protruded from the rubble, yet he was virtually unharmed. His two dogs, standing on either side of him at the time of the attack, were killed instantly. [Yated Ne'eman Feb. 22, 1991]

When the explosion came we said Shema Yisroel [ one among the prayers favored by tradition when there is an expectation of imminent death]. We didn't even have enough time to enter our sealed room. The destruction in the sealed room was total; we would have been completely perforated by the flying glass which destroyed everything in the room. [Mishpacha]

More missile Miracles.

-- One Marine was accidentally run over twice by a Humvee and walked away without a scratch or broken bone.

-- Another Humvee full of soldiers was hit by a rocket-propelled grenade that should have killed them all but struck the backpack of a soldier that was filled with a sleeping bag and warming-mat balled up. Although the pack was destroyed, it saved the lives of several men that day.

-- Another soldier recounted a time when his life was spared as an Iraqi soldier looking straight at him and pointing his gun suddenly started waving at something frantically and ran. The Marine still doesn't know what the Iraqi saw or was afraid of, but believes God was in it.

-- During the convoy to the presidential palace, one amphibious assault vehicle was hit by an enemy grenade in the front window. One soldier instantly radioed for help knowing someone had to be hurt. But after a few minutes of inspection no one inside the vehicle was harmed.

-- One lieutenant prayed for a direct hit with his last AT-4 missile in order to avoid the enemy turning their turret on them and killing 15 vulnerable Marines. God answered his prayer and saved all of the Marines.

-- Cash and his companion soldier got lost in the convoy formation three times because of wind storms that prevented them from seeing 10-15 feet ahead of them. But God showed them the way back.

-- Other vehicles in the middle of a long convoy to the presidential palace took a wrong turn and started doubling back on themselves. God used it to confuse the enemy and they were able to find their way back into formation.

Cash learned that God does not need a sanctuary of religious "things" for worship.

With a portable pulpit containing a cross, a goblet and communion bread, he moved from Humvee to AAV using a tailgate, an ammunition box or meal ration box as platforms for worship services.

He remembered one worship service during which 20 men gathered along the Tigris River with rifles in hand. As he finished the closing praying and began to say "Go in peace," a barrage of gunfire penetrated the air. It was a suicide attempt of seven Iraqi men in a truck ready to take out the Marine checkpoint.

"We all knew that something more than our own watchfulness, strength and courage was protecting and defending us from our enemy," Cash wrote in the book.

One worship service Cash will never forget was with a young soldier who said he hadn't been to church in a while. "I'm from a Christian tradition that worships on Saturdays rather than Sundays," the soldier explained. "Since it's Saturday night, I was wondering if you and me, just the two of us, could do church together?"

Cash's heart melted.

"I quickly grabbed my Bible, pocket devotional, and red-lens flashlight, and the two of us, huddling together in the back of Dr. Trivedi's combat ambulance, worshiped God," Cash wrote. "As we bowed in prayer in that darkened and cramped compartment, my soul was flooded with the awareness that we might as well have been in the world's most beautiful cathedral. It didn't matter. There we were, only two of us, filthy -- neither of us had taken a shower in at least two weeks. We were turning the torn pages of a mud-stained Bible. The only light we had to guide our reading was the dim red glow of a flashlight the size of a pen. But for us that ambulance was holy ground because we were in the presence of God.

"I worshiped with filthy, bloody, scared soldiers who sang Amazing Grace and Lord, I Lift Your Name on High a cappella. Danger magnifies the presence of God. God seemed to be using the very chaos of war to provide stark contrast with the peace and assurance that He brings through His Son Jesus."

- Me and my two children were staying with relatives one night. Storms were rising up and blowing through all evening. It was very stormy and we watched the weather until late and went to bed. I was going to put the kids in one spare room, but my sister-n-law, said no put them in a different room. So without question that's what we did. I probably would have slept with them, but fell asleep on the couch.

I was suddenly awakened by a huge bomb-like sound and bright flash. The house shook & I thought I saw lightning hit a electric pole in the front yard. I ran to the back of the house where the bedrooms were and saw a glowing on the wall of the empty spare bedroom. I didn't know what it was, but checked on the kids, they were terrified but fine. Then I looked again and saw it was a small fire in the wall - so immediately we left the house and saw smoke coming from the roof. We called fire & rescue and they put water in the area & it was out. The most damage was to that back wall in the spare bedroom. About the size of a man's head was a hole with black edges. The windows were broken, the siding on the outside was melted & cracked all around the house. Water was spraying from the ground in the front yard. The water pipes in the yard had to be dug out by the water department and repaired. Everything electrical in the house was toasted. The wires melted and blackened.

Most amazing is the holes in the mattress and sheets. Little tiny burned holes all over the bed where the lightning had shot through. Totally a miracle that we listened to the voice & were kept from a disaster much worse. Jesus saved our lives that night.

A simple prayer to receive Jesus as Lord:

Jesus, come into my life. Forgive me of all my sins. I ask You to cleanse my heart, and make me a new person in You right now. I believe that you are the Son of God and that You died on the cross for me. I thank you, Jesus, for loving me enough to die for me. I receive you as my Saviour and Lord. In Jesus Name, Amen.
