Why Buy a Mirrix Loom?

http:///www.mirrixlooms.com

Mirrix Looms are simply the best portable tapestry and bead looms available anywhere. Famous for both their form and function, the Mirrix Loom comes in seven different sizes to accommodate all the various needs of our tapestry and bead weaving community. The first Mirrix Loom protype was made in 1995 and the company was started in 1996 and has been going strong ever since as our competitiors have left the business. We are proud of our product and even prouder of the American employees who make each loom by hand.

Mirrix Tapestry & Bead Loms are designed to be as functional as they are beautiful. Made from a lovely combination of copper, aluminum and steel, the Mirrix Loom will last for generations to come. Our first advertisement sported the saying: "Because the Loom you weave on should be a work of art." We got it right from the very beginning. Mirrix Looms provide exceptional strength and tension so that you can spend your time creating pieces of artwork and not doing battle with your loom. The Mirrix is as easy to set up as it is to use. From our littlest to our biggest, the Mirrix is portable whether fitting in your purse or fitting in the back seat of your car. All our looms can stand on a table, although the smallest ones also serve as lap looms. The five larger looms (12 inches wide and up) come with the famous Mirrix shedding device, which raises and lowers every other thread for a true weaving experience. Use the shedding device for both tapestry and bead weaving. The two smallest looms come with one 14 dent warp coil for spacing the threads that are on the loom and do not provide shedding devices. The five larger looms come with the shedding device and four warp coils for many different setts. All the looms come with a newly minted two-hour DVD that shows you have to set it up for both tapestry and bead weaving and, along with the written instructions, will easily get you through the learning curve of setting up the Mirrix Loom. Turn any of the larger five looms into a floor loom with our beautiful Mirrix Loom stand and add-on treadle.

A Word From Our President, Claudia Chase

Mini Mirrix

Named after our late take-us anywhere horse Loreli , this is the perfect take-anywhere loom to add to your collection. Weighing only a pound and a half and measuring 5 inches across, this loom is versatile, simple and fits any budget. The Mini-Mirrix was designed with the on-the-go weaver in mind . . . for those of us who always need a bead loom in our purse! Perfect for weaving bracelets and necklaces with a weaving width of 2 ½ inches and length of 14 inches. The mini-Mirrix is any beader's little dream. (One 14 dent spring included with loom.)

Price: $115.00

Lani Loom

Like her little friend above, the LaniLoom is a dedicated bead loom. Eight inches wide, with a five inch weaving width and 26 inch weaving length, the LaniLoom stands on a table with one long fold-leg. Graceful and elegant, this 4 pound loom won't fit in your pocket, but she sure can travel. Use traditional bead weaving techniques on the Lani, but with functionality that puts other bead looms to shame. She doesn't come with a shedding device. (One 14 dent spring included with loom.)

Price: $155.00

The Little Guy

The smallest of our looms designed to accommodate both tapestry and bead weaving, The Little Guy is so cute, so portable and fits perfectly on a lap when he isn't standing on a table with his two fold out legs. Weighing in at a featherweight 5 pounds, this little loom 12 inch wide loom is a workshop goer's dream. Weave a fiber or bead tapestry up to 9 inches wide and 22 inches. (Shedding device and four warp coils, 8,12, 14 & 18 dents, included with loom.)

Price: $230.00

The Big Sister

At 16 inches wide and weighing in at 6 pounds, the Big Sister is both bigger than her little brother and has been around longer. She was the first loom we designed! Bigger does not always mean a lot more expensive. A tapestry or bead weaving 13 inches wide and 36 inches high can be woven on this elegant, compact loom. Another great workshop or travel loom, the Big Sister stands firmly on a table. This is our most popular loom both for tapestry and bead weavers or those who do combined techniques. (Shedding device and four warp coils, 8, 12, 14 & 18 dents, included with loom.)

Price: $250.00

The Zach Loom

Our third dedicated tapestry and bead loom is the perfect size for the weaver who wants that extra size to weave substantial pieces but doesn't necessarily want to take her loom to the beach. Great for workshops because at 11 pounds and 22 inches wide, it's still a really portable loom. But also a great addition to your weaving studio. Weave a piece 19 inches wide and 40 inches tall on this well proportioned loom. (Shedding device and four warp coils, 8, 12, 14 & 18 dents, included with loom.)

Price: $320.00

The Joni Loom

Pure tapestry or large scale bead weaving bliss! The Joni Loom is the loom for those of you who like to think big but don't want your loom to take over your room. Joni weighs 14 pounds as is 32 inches wide. You can weave a pieced on her 29 inches wide and 44 inches tall. That's a lot of space for creating your dreams. Pair her up with the stand and treadle and you've got yourself a fabulous floor loom at a fraction of cost and taking up a fraction of the space. She's great with or without these additions. She's stronger than our other looms, sporting a double top and bottom beam to make sure she can accommodate the kind of tension tapestry weavers demand. (Shedding device and four warp coils, 8, 12, 14 & 18 dents, included with loom.)

Price: $430.00

The Zeus Loom

Designed at the request of a weaver of Navajo rugs who was fed up with her traditional Navajo loom, The 32 inch wide Zeus Loom is big, is strong and gives you the ability to make a tapestry or rug 35 inches wide and 46 inches long. At 18 pounds you can still move him from room to room. Like his buddy Joni, Zeus pairs beautifully with our stand and treadle to make the ideal floor loom. (Shedding device and four warp coils, 8, 12, 14 & 18 dents, included with loom.)

Price: $540.00

Stand/Treadle

The entire loom/stand/treadle combination turns the Mirrix Loom into a dedicated floor loom. The stand adjusts to a variety of heights for both sitting and standing. The treadle allows you to use your feet instead of your hands to change the shed. For a fraction of the price of a tapestry floor loom, Mirrix provides a way to make your big dreams come true. And when you get tired of looking at it, it all comes apart in seconds for easy storage. The stand can be used without the treadle for bead looms (or for tapestery looms if you prefer to use the handle). The treadle does not require the stand to be used for your Mirrix tapestry loom. It's all mix and match in whatever configuration pleases you.
