Misha Collins: A Disobedient Angel
Ranked #6,304 in Entertainment, #78,499 overall
Misha, Not Just an Angel
What many people find surprising is that Misha used to be in politics! He actually served as an intern under Bill Clinton, long before the whole Monica debacle, or, as Misha Collins says, "when the position was still respectable". He left off his political career to become an actor and has been doing that steadily ever since.

Misha Collins
Misha Collins as Castiel
While Misha has been in other roles, there is something about his portrayal of the angel Castiel, sent to lift Dean out of Hell, that really captures our attention. Maybe it's the intense frown he wears constantly, those amazing blue eyes or the fact that his hair is always carefully touseled while he is a man possessed by an angel (as opposed to neatly combed when in human form).
As Castiel, Misha plays the part of a lower level angel who is destined to watch over Dean. When he finds the Winchesters less than compliant with his orders from up above, Castiel begins to question his obedience to the next level of angels, particularly after meeting a fallen angel who left Heaven because she discovered how wrong some of the angels were.
For most of Season 4, Castiel is tormented with doubts and feels he is not the perfect angel. He begins to stray from the divine purpose, but a quick visit back upstairs sets him right until the final episode, Lucifer Rising, where he joins forces with Dean to try and stop the Apocolypse, against angelic orders.
In Season 6, Castiel goes a bit crazy and names himself God. He then destroys everything he once worked so hard for and in Season 7, he frees the Leviathans from Purgatory and is destroyed himself . . . or so it seems. He later makes a comeback when he rescues Sam from insanity and goes insane himself.

"I honestly don't know that much more than you do about why the change in attitude, except for some things that I do know that you don't know." - Misha when asked about Castiel's dramatic attitude switch after returning from Heaven.

A Walk on the Dark Side for Misha Collins

Karla was a movie that portrayed the true life story of Karla Homolka and Paul Bernardo, a Canadian couple that raped and murdered three teenage girls, one of whome was Karla's younger sister. The crime was a horrific one and as investigations went on, it became obvious that Bernardo was a very sick individual, with a history of raping and beating women.
Misha played the role of Paul Bernardo, the wife-beating psychopath who convinced his young bride to go along with his crimes. Unfortunately for him, he made home videos of the rapes and murders, which were used to convict him in the court of law.
The role was a difficult one for Misha and he was surprised to find that he had the darkness in him to play the violent scenes that were required in the movie. It was something that frightened the actor, he says, having never realized that this part of him even existed. The role affected him long after the 5 week shoot was over.
``When we started shooting it, I wasn't aware of the extent to which this was still so vivid in the Canadian mind. I was surprised that the story caught fire so much down here of the film being made. But I don't feel I have anything to be ashamed of.'' Collins said before the movie was released. He probably understands Canadians quite a bit better now that he is filming with the Supernatural crew in Vancouver, BC.

A look at one of the most horrific crimes executed by a couple in North America, this movie is also a fascinating look at Misha Collin's acting abilities.
