Come Meet The Sweetest Spider of All!
Spiders are spinning away in the trees
Buggies are bouncing and riding the breeze
Gliding through the sky
We're flying high
The fun we hatch, in Sunny Patch
To the hollow tree, a family
On wings and strings
And floaty things
Coming home for hugs
Be good to bugs.

Meet the Author
David Kirk is the creator of the children's books who follow the character Miss Spider. Before Miss Spider, however, he made colorful toys that were sold in hand painted boxes. He was urged to write children's books, when his toys caught the interest of a book packager. It wasn't difficult to figure out what he would use as characters in his stories. His daughter, Violet, (Primrose is his daughter's name according to Mr. Kirk on the Sunny Patch Kids DVD) had a liking for bugs. He looked to the book The Gnomes Almanac by Viennese author Ida Bohtta Morpugo for inspiration.
The Miss Spider books have been adapted to a childrens television show called Miss Spiders Sunny Patch Friends, and a video game called Miss Spider's Sunny Patch Friends - Harvest Time Hop and Fly''.
