Missing Children in South Africa

Ranked #4,923 in Parenting & Kids, #164,896 overall | Donates to Squidoo Charity Fund, Room to Read

Become Involved It could happen to your child

It is horrible.   Children are going missing and ending up in strange countries as s** workers or worst dead.   Please become involved and stop this cycle of abuse against children.  In South Africa we have a massive amount of children disappearing.  Teach your child the basics of survival.  Let your children know the reasons for you checking up on them.  Once a child is gone, you can never replace them.  As my motto goes:

Each of us are unique as there is only one of us.  The hole left inside for all the loved ones left behind is so bad.  You never want to go through it.

Stop Children being abducted, abused, kidnapped and all other abusive behaviour that is leaving a dent in our society.

Children are and will always be our most valued asset in life.  They are our future.  Keep them safe and secure.

This is a brilliant site. You must check it out.

"The Democratic Alliance is once again joining the PINK LADIES in silent protest against the deaths of Sheldean Human, Annestacia Wiese and the thousands of other children that are victims of crime and abuse in this country.

According to the latest police statistics on child victims of crime, it is reported that between 2005 to 2006:

1 075 children were murdered in South Africa

Nearly 24 000 children were raped

There were 1 378 attempted murders on children.

20 879 cases of molestation.

Please join hands on 5 March 2008, and get your colleagues and friends to participate in the 'pink day' campaign by wearing pink and blue .

Spread the word!... "

I say! Yes we need to join together to stop what is happening to our children

THE MISSING CHILDREN'S LOVED ONES WISHES YOU A PROSPEROUS 2008

Missing children is a worldwide problem.

This a letter sent out by Mr Fanie van Deventer, President of "SACMEC". They are a none commercial organisation that helps find missing children.
This is the letter that was sent out. I can tell you just reading the Headline made me cry.

READ THE LETTER:

""THE MISSING CHILDREN'S LOVED ONES WISHES YOU A PROSPEROUS 2008:

We hope you had a very nice holiday and festive season. For those of you that stayed at home and worked, we hope that was fruitful as well. We would like to wish you all a very prosperous New Year.

We had a very silent festive season concerning Missing children and are very grateful for that.
During 2007 we had a success rate of 86% in recovering missing children.

This, however, would not have been possible without YOU, our eyes and ears, and we hope to have your continued support and vigilance during 2008. We will strive to make our communication through this wonderful medium more often this year. The few newsletters and notifications during 2007 proved to have huge successes and we again want to thank you, because without your participation it would not have been.

Please invite all your friends and family to become part of this project by subscribing to our newsletter, after all it is free and will help us find missing children much faster.

I want to start off this year with information about a 3 year old child that has been found abandoned in Newcastle, KwaZulu Natal. Please have a look at his photograph and distribute it to as many as you can. Remember somewhere in South Africa there is parents looking for their child and having to live with the trauma associated with something worst than death.

The only information we can get from this little boy is as follows:
Name: Velapi
Surname: Unknown
Age: Approx. 3 Years
Father's name: Aaron
Address: "Meki's House next to a Spaza shop
Date found: 13 December 2007
Placed in a place of Safety on 15 December 2007

General information: His father owns a truck and his mother do not work. His manners and behavior indicates that he was brought up well and in good conditions. Language: Zulu with a few words in Sesotho. If you know who this child is or where he belongs please contact us on +27012 393 2005/7. South African Dialing code. Thank you for taking the time to read this mail, and may God bless you during the rest of the year.

Kind regards.

I should let our kids learn to defend themselves if they are bit older, like 5 years or do.
teach them karate, make them wise what to do if being kidnapped. they have to know your cell no offhand.

Hi there eccles, Thank you so very much. You are a great person and if more people became involved and added their blogs and squidoo to each other, just think of the great wide net we could make and give our children at least so chance of being found.

    Thank you again most sincerly.

It's all good and well to have these sites giving advice on how to prevent your child from going missing, but in a country (SA) where statistically a child goes missing every six hours, why does the site with the profiles of our missing children no longer exist????? Why do our missing childen no longer have a voice?? Certain of our missing children have even been removed from the international sites..!!! Why?? Even if you do suspect that a child is a "missing child", there is no longer a site where you can go to view profiles of South African Children who have disappeared, so our missing kids have no chance of being found!!! Do our missing children no longer matter???

How do there take a child whilst you are shopping

Always have contact with your child when you are shopping

I know of a woman that went shopping with her child in a big shopping centre in Johannesburg south africa. Her daughter was sitting in the trolley and she turned away to look at something on the shelf. when she turned back her child was gone. She screamed and lucky for her the security locked the doors and started to look for the child. The found the child in the change rooms with boy's clothes on and half of her hair already shaven off.

They use any substance that will make you sleep so that the child will not cry out. No one say anything at all. It all happened so quick. Think about it your child runs away from you in the shopping centre or you send your child to check out the toys' section while you get on the your shopping. By the time you notice your child is missing it could be too late. Please for your child's safety keep your toes on them if you need to, do something to keep in physical contact at all times. Our children are our most precious assets in this life, they are our future, treat them right, respect them, Rather be overprotective than underprotective, they have enough chance when they are bigger to defend themselves.

Please let us unite on this issue of missing children

24 HOUR Successes for finding Missing Children

Fantastic wonderful work in finding missing Children

A 24h response letter from SACMEC. Parents found in 24hours. I could not believe it, but it is really remarkable. It shows you that with YOU being our eyes and ears, nothing is impossible. The parents of the child "Velapi" that was featured in yesterday's newsletter, were found. "Velapi" is still in the Place of Safety but was visited by his parents late yesterday. As soon as all the vetting and investigation procedures are finished he will be reunited with them.

If 2008 kicks off like this, I am really positive that this will be the year where we can really help our children to find their way back home. Again, thank you to all of you whom made an effort to spread the information about "Velapi".

TOGETHER WE DID MAKE A DIFFERENCE!!!

Enjoy the rest of your day.
Kind regards.

Fanie van Deventer
President: SACMEC

This is the type of response that can be achieved if we all stand together to help find missing children world wide

Womans Month of August

Female Children

Hi there TrudyVan here

As it is women's month for the month of August, I would like to dedicate this month also to all the female children out there.

Let us celebrate the wonder of being a female and go all out for stronger laws to protect all our children.

The courts systems need to be changed. How can a small child give evidence. They are so confused about everything and the also do not have the ability to fight the defendants lawyers in court.

To all you women out there great and small this is your month. Look after each other
