Do You Know Beth Doe As the Woman Who Went Missing Around 1976?
Pregnant Woman Who Disappeared in the 1970s
Do not assume you do not know this person just because you don't know a "missing" person. There is a good chance that this young lady may have never been reported missing. You may think of her as a runaway, someone who moved away with her family or boyfriend, someone who was sent away while she was pregnant, etc.
*If you were born between 1954 and 1960, you may know Beth Doe as a classmate, friend, or acquaintance. It is believed Beth was born between those years, maybe a year or two earlier or later. She would have been between sixteen and twenty-two in 1976. Is it possible you went to high school with this woman? Could you have worked with her at some point?
*At the time of her death, Beth Doe was carrying a full term white female fetus. The baby would have been born healthy. There is a possibility that people close to this woman may not have known she was pregnant or it is possible that she became pregnant after becoming known as a missing person.
*Beth Doe was 5'4". She weighed between 130 and 150 pounds. Keep in mind that Beth Doe was pregnant. Perhaps the woman you're looking for weighted less than that.
*Beth Doe had moles on her face. There was one small mole by her left eye and another mole on her left cheek. These moles may have developed during pregnancy.
*Beth Doe had some fillings in her teeth and was also missing a few teeth. Do you know a woman who disappeared around 1976 who may have only had sporadic dental care or poor dental health?
*Beth Doe may have been of Mediterranean descent. It is even possible that she was a Romany, sometimes known as a gypsy. Perhaps she was an immigrant. She had dark brown hair and brown eyes. Do you know a missing woman fitting this description?
*Beth Doe had a 5.5" scar on her left leg above the heel. She had not had any previous fractures.

Do You Know Who This Woman With Brown Hair and Brown Eyes Could Be?
*On the other hand, Beth Doe may originally be from anywhere. However, Beth Doe was found within 24 hours of being killed meaning that it is likely that she was killed somewhere on the east coast within a relatively short driving distance of White Haven, a community in the northeastern portion of Pennsylvania.
*Do you know a missing woman who in anyway could be related to the letters WSR? 8 to 12 hours before Beth Doe died she wrote WSR and either a 4 or 5 next to it and a 4 or 7 below and to the right of that on her left hand palm. This could be initials trying to identify the girl along with a birthday or other numerical ID, it could be a license plate number, it could be a CB call sign, it could be the name of a road, etc. No one is sure what the letters and numbers mean.
*Beth Doe was murdered on December 19 or 20, 1976 but it is possible that she was a missing person long before that date. You may not even think of her as a missing person. Perhaps you know her as someone who left town with her boyfriend or husband or by herself during that time period or as a someone who was sent away by her family, etc.
*Do you know a woman with dark brown hair and brown eyes who was kidnapped, left home, ran away, disappeared under unusual circumstances, or otherwise went missing in or around 1976 who looks like one of the pictures shown on this page?
Even if you have reported a friend or loved one missing in the past, don't assume she has been compared to Beth Doe. If you know of a person who fits Beth Doe's description and has not been seen since the mid-1970s, you should call the number below.

What Happened To Beth Doe
Do You Know Who Killed This Pregnant Woman?
Even if you don't know who Beth Doe is, perhaps you know who killed her.
Beth Doe was strangled and shot in the neck. Her body was then put into three suitcases. The exact details of this crime may be too grizzly to put on this page but additional details about Beth's death can be found here. The suitcases were dropped from an overpass on I-80 in White Haven, Pennsylvania and fell 300 feet to the ground. It is assumed the person disposing of the suitcases intended to throw them into the Lehigh River but missed causing the suitcases to open.
Beth Doe was killed on December 19th or December 20th, 1976. She had been dead 7 to 24 hours before being found at 4:30 PM on December 20, 1976.
There are many details about the materials found at the crime scene that may help identify Beth Doe's killer or killers.
Suitcases
The suitcases were all the same size (23" x 14" x 7 1/2"). One suitcase was blue and tan plaid with a brown vinyl trim and side zipper. The other two suitcases were soft vinyl, blue colored, with a red, white, and blue stripe. These also zipped on the side. Before being dropped, the handles had been cut off of the suitcase and someone painted the zippers with black flat paint. A photo of the suitcases appears above.
Packing Materials
Several things were packed into the suitcases. A chenille rust or coral color blanket was cut into three parts. The bedspread had an embroidered flower design with yellow for the flowers and pink and green for the details. Straw and dry packing foam were also in the suitcases. Six sections of the New York Sunday News dated September 26, 1976 were also present.

- is there any way that blood samples from the baby may have been taken? DNA could possibly link the father of the baby to her murder.
