Mitsubishi Eclipse GSX 4G63 AWD Turbo

This is one of my favorite cars, and we happen to own one! This will be about the 1995-1999 Mitsubishi Eclipse GSX.

1995-1999 are the model years for the 2G, or second generation. There are a few different versions of the Eclipse, the GS, GSX, and GST. The GST and GSX are both turbo, the GS non-turbo. The GST is front wheel drive, and the GSX is all wheel drive.

The GSX comes with the infamous 4G63, 2.0 liter 4 cylinder motor. These motors are legendary in the tuner circles, for their ability to handle high horsepower for such a small motor. 500 horsepower on an untouched block is not uncommon (this means only the block is untouched, where the rest of the components around the engine, such as the turbo, are mostly all upgraded.

It Takes Work Also - Motor Install

We love our cars and it's is our hobby and passion. Part of it takes a bit of work. We bought our 1999 Mitsubishi Eclipse used, and the first weekend after we got it on the road, we spun a bearing, and had to put in a rebuilt motor.

That was a bit heartbreaking, but we stuck it out, and have since put in quite a bit of work, but it has all been worth it.

We both race our own cars, as a family, with out 3 year old, and it's such a great time, every time we go, and those nice moments at the track, make it all worth it. There are also many other great moments other than just at the track, but those are some of our favorites.

Definitely worth it in the end!! I think we were just talking about this tonight, actually. So much work has gone into the GSX, but I love her so much so it's been worth it.
