Welcome to Mitchell and Webber
There's more to this company than meets the eye, however, with their range of services far greater than merely the delivery of home heating oil - which is how most customers come into contact with them.
Mitchell and Webber have a very long history within the county and some of their innovative services are worth a closer look. Trust me! Read on....
History of a well known brand
How it all began....
The far-reaching distribution network Mitchell and Webber now operate had very humble beginnings!Just over 100 years ago Frederick Webber bought himself out of the Navy and, with his sons Eustace and Ned started a parrafin business and round in Truro.
At about the same time a Blacksmith in Bridge, near Redruth by the name of Ernest Mitchell, along with his son Bert, branched out from smithying to start a parrafin round. The companies became branded oil distributors in the 50s as Webber Bros and Mitchells.
The companies amalgamated in 1966 to become the company we recognise today.
Mitchell and Webber's early roots were domestic distribution (then of parrafin, later of home heating oil)and this remains a very important part of their business today.
From their purpose-built oil depot in Scorrier, their fleet of tankers keeps houses warm throughout the Cornish winters across the whole County and much of Devon.
Additionally, though, Mitchell and Webber play an important role in the local agricultural sector, supplying oil and diesel to farms. Their range of lubricants too, quite literally keep things moving on numerous farms in the southwest as well as many types of industry.

Home Heating Services
Oil and home heating services from Mitchell and Webber
Mitchell and Webber offer a range of services alongside the delivery of domestic heating oil. The supply of oil to the home can be arranged by a simple phone call but Mitchell and Webber seek to remove even that small inconvenience!Scheduled delivery takes into account your average consumption. Mitchell and Webber keep track of your average consumption (based on the size of your house, number of people, type of heating) and will send a delivery regularly to ensure that your oil tank does not run low.
An even higher-tech alternative is the "Watchman" system, a sensor on your tank that registers when your oil level is low and sends an order automatically via your telephone line. You will never run out of oil again!
Having fuel in your tank, though, is only part of the equation. With Mitchell and Webber, you can arrange regular servicing of your boiler and aga as well as take out insurance against breakdown.
Servicing has the benefit of increasing the efficiency of your boiler, reducing fuel consumption and emmissions.
When the time comes to replace old equipment (an investment that, with modern technology offers real consumption savings) we can recommend the most suitable boiler for your heating system and install it professionally. We also offer a range of high quality oil fired stoves and Agas including Rayburn, Nestor Martin and Efel brands.
Industrial, Agricultural and Marine
Business Services from Mitchell and Webber
Mitchell and Webber can arrange bulk fuel deliveries for businesses at very favourable rates. The "Watchman/Signalman" system can be applied to industrial and commercial premises too, where running out of fuel is more than a mere inconvenience but an expensive mistake. Bio Fuels and Bio Blend
Looking to a greener future
The advent of green fuel alternatives has not gone un noticed, both by Mitchell and Webber and their customers.Mitchell and Webber have exclusive rights to the sale of RIX Bio diesel in Cornwall, offering a "drop in" alternative to standard diesel that requires no kind of upgrade to engines to make it work.
Bio Diesel is a much cleaner fuel, more sustainable, and more cost effective. Tests have shown that a 5% blend of bio additive to standard diesel improves engine function to make it up to 5% more efficient.

Lets hear what you think about UK fuel prices!
Is the high cost of fuel the result of inevitable global demand, or is caused by other factors? Is it a good thing that will help reduce global warming or something that will damage our economy? Have your say - politely please!
Mitchell and Webber are working hard to deliver supplies to their customers as cheaply as possible - and to be as "green" as possible in their operations.
