MLB Jerseys for the 2011 Season

I'm interested to know what jersey you're most looking forward to pulling out of the closet for the 2011 baseball season... or, maybe you still need to pick it up from your local sports store... or maybe you're going to order it online! Who knows! Regardless, let's do some ranking to see which jersey is the most popular for the upcoming baseball season - get pumped!

If I still wore jerseys, I'd probably be pretty inclined to wear a jersey from my favorite childhood team, the Toronto Blue Jays. And again, if I had to choose, I think I'd be pretty pumped to pull a Jose Bautista jersey on. He had a monster year for the Blue Jays last season and fans are hoping that he has another mammoth season. :-)

If I were picking a jersey from the pitching staff, I think I would be inclined to buy a Ricky Romero jersey. He's left-handed as am I, and he's a really good pitcher. I'd say he's definitely worth emulating.

My favourite jersey as a kid...

Was my Joe Carter jersey. He was the epitome of happiness when he hit that 3-run homer off of Mitch Williams to become the 2nd player in MLB history to end a World Series with a HR. Most people know that he was involved in the final play of back-to-back World Series wins (in 1992, he caught the final out after Timlin fielded the bunt and threw it to first). However, something that not every fan will know is that he ALSO caught the final out of the 1993 ALCS against the Chicago White Sox... making him involved in the final out of 3 consecutive playoff series (1992 world series, 1993 ALCS, 1993 world series; back then, they didn't have Wild Card games).

The 2010 MLB season...

should prove to be very exciting. There has been quite a lot of player movement... Personally, I'd love to see my childhood team of the Toronto Blue Jays make a run for the AL East or even the wildcard. Although, conventional wisdom would tell me that they'll have a hard time competing with the Yankees, Red Sox, AND the Rays. My guess is that the GM is looking to be competitive for the 2012 or 2013 season, but no one would have predicted a winning season for the Jays in 2009, so maybe they'll surprise us all and do even better in 2011!

Being from Chicago, I am a band-wagoner (don't hate me). If I am watching in Korea, it will probably be then someone that is doing really well. :)

I used to follow the Pirates in my youth, but like most small market teams, the lack of a salary cap has made competitive baseball non-existent in the 'burgh. I'll pull out my Roberto Clemente or Bill Mazeroski (the 1st player in MLB history to end a World Series with a HR...) jersey and go to a couple of games this year. Waiting for better days I guess...

Looking forward to this season. My team is Detroit Tigers and though I don't buy individual jersey, I buy the Team apparel. If I was going to buy one, I would get the Miguel Cabrera jersey. Good luck all baseball fans and no matter what team you root for, we all share a common love of baseball.

    Waaaah.

I'm eying my Jeff Kent and Russell Martin Dodgers t-shirts. I'm still mourning the fall of a promising young catcher who fizzled on us and is now playing for the Yankees if he plays at all. I think I will not be wearing anyone's jersey this year, just my lucky Opening Day t-shirt from '08.

Actually, no, I may have to get a Saito t-shirt, if available. He was our closer a few years ago, and remains one of my favorite players despite the fact that I always have to watch him pitch for somebody else. Not only is he a finesse pitcher with an interesting delivery that I really enjoy watching, but also, he is an extremely humble, courteous, and gentle fellow from everything I've seen. He is from Sendai.

And the DH needs to go. This chick could care squat about the long ball; I like strategy and the running game.

As for the Giants: I found myself clicking on "The Freak" despite being a Dodger fan. I am chagrinned to see my team's rivals thriving when mine has gone into a tailspin, but I've been watching their pitching for years. They would have been a threat before now if they'd had anything besides pitching.

lol... I can empathize with "waaaah."

My Blue Jays play in the "Death Division" where the Yankees and Red Sox always try to out-spend each other.... and now the Rays are contenders, so it makes it even harder to compete!

Interesting note on Saito. I think it's great to meet or learn about players that are actually really nice fellows off the field.

I agree with you about the DH, but I'm sure MLBPA would have something to say about that (losing 15 otherwise important 'jobs').
