MMA Strength and Conditioning Exercises
I used to look up random MMA conditioning exercises on the Internet. When I got tired of those, I'd look up some more exercises.
I eventually discovered that this type of exercise regimen was not benefiting my long term progress. I felt unstable & frustrated. My body wasn't consistently becoming stronger all around. A friend of mine who was a fitness trainer helped me identify my faults and find solutions. Hopefully this information helps you so you don't have to make all the same mistakes I did.

I asked a fitness trainer friend of mine about my problems. He said my mistakes were the same mistakes he saw daily in his gym. Out of love, he got down to the dirty specifics which helped me change my ways and transform my conditioning.
Here is a list of the things he had to say..
- Workouts need to be proven and certain. He said people all too often come into his gym with random exercises they found in magazines or from the Internet but do not have a longterm proven method with a charted longterm plan. He explained it's usually just a matter of time before they quit or come to him for advice. When motivation is on the line, certainty and dependability are key factors in reliable programs. Guessing is not.
- Another common problem is when athletes miss important details of a movement. He said this is extremely common. He said that the details of an exercise mean everything in the outcome or result. This is all too often taken for granted because exercise instructions are shared with poor description. People are less motivated after seeing the less effective results of all their efforts. Even just having an expert explain where to focus or assist with small adjustments will enhance results tremendously.
- Another factor is when newer athletes mimic the workouts of advanced athletes without using the strategy the advanced athletes used to get there in the first place. You must know what level your body is on. He said that it is also important to build core strength and foundation strength first before moving to specialized movements.
- Finally he mentioned that not enough athletes realize that fitness is a complete science in and of itself. They don't embrace this and as a result they reach future frustrations. Athletes become unmotivated or frustrated when they work hard and only get mediocre results. To truly beat out the competition you've got to have expert sources or become educated in fitness strength and cardio dynamics. Then of course, you work your butt off. He laughed.
After we spoke a while, I told him this makes huge amounts of sense with regards to the way I'd been training! I asked if any fitness trainer is enough for MMA help.
He said the absolute ideal is to find someone who understands the separate science of the body as well as the separate science of MMA, not just one or the other. From there that person can form a credible calculated long term plan with specific goals charted for progress.

The Link labeled "complete fighter fitness" is really there only if you absolutely can't afford to invest anything into an advanced level system. You can still get a really valuable cardio workout system for free but you do have to give them your email address. I think being on a small mailing list is a small price to pay for a proven cardio method.. just my opinion.

After I learned to use the advanced training methods and went full force with them, my striking power, cardio and strength shot through the roof! I remember thinking about how many opponents I would have done better against if I had only used this proven method sooner.
Most Top MMA Fighters Today Have Strength and Conditioning Coaches That Track Their Fitness for them!

It occurred to me that most elite level MMA athletes have a team of experts that assist them. The great thing about having a qualified program is that it takes the guess work out of your conditioning.
If its a good program, it's a lot like having your own qualified team of experts behind you. You can take confidence in the fact that you are backed up by proven methods, not random exercises.
Don't make the same mistakes I did. Invest in a program your confident in that you can use long term for continued stability and consistent results. A great method is your secret weapon. You might not want to share it!
